Filming for the new Mortal Kombat movie begins this September in Australia, according to a new report! The film, directed by Simon McQuoid will involve a male protagonist who becomes drawn into the interdimensional tournament, and who begins to realize his true potential as a result of the experience.
Written by Greg Russo the Mortal Kombat movie will hit theaters March 5th, 2021. The reboot is also being produced by The Conjuring director James Wan, so we expect the film to be rated R and contain some graphic thrills!
Directed by Simon McQuoid, based on a screenplay by Jeremy Slater, Mortal Kombat II stars newcomer Karl Urban as Johnny Cage! Cast also includes Adeline Rudolph, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, Tati Gabrielle, Lewis Tan, Damon Herriman, Chin Han, with returning stars Tadanobu Asano as Raiden, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han, and Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi / Scorpion.
Mortal Kombat 2's official release date is set for May 15th, 2026!
