Scified is a network of fan communities designed to offer fans of science fiction an outlet to express their interests and share their knowledge about the films they're most passionate about. The site is independently owned and operated by fans, for fans and we are not endorsed by or affiliated with any Hollywood studio – however, we do often collaborate with them to help promote upcoming movies our members are enthusiastic about. This post chronicles the times we've had the opportunity to work closely with official movie studios and marketing agencies to help propel hype for a variety of sci-fi projects.
Prometheus – Unveiling the Weyland Industries Med Pod

Back in 2012, Scified didn't exist yet. We began as Prometheus-Movie.com - a website dedicated to Ridley Scott’s Alien prequel, which quickly became the internet's premiere site for news and discussion on the topic. We maintained a #1 ranking on Google at the time and even were linked to by Fox.com. It was an overwhelmingly exciting time for us and to top it off, we were given an opportunity to partake in 20th Century Fox's marketing campaign for the film. Fox established a relationship with us back then to unveiled the Media Pod as part of the Weyland Industries product line marketing campaign. Hilariously, upon unveiling that collaboration, we received so many hits it crashed our server at the time, prompting us to move to a larger dedicated hosting provider. We also got to collaborate with Fox again, cross-linking content with their official Project Prometheus website – we acted as their fan portal and they were great about sharing our content and highlighting the amazing contributions by our passionate community.
Alien: Covenant World Premiere
In 2017 20th Century Fox gave us an opportunity to attend the world premiere of Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant in London, England. Part of the experience included various press junkets and an opportunity to meet and interview Ridley Scott, Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston and other cast from the film.
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters and Apple TV's First Bite
To help promote the second season of Apple TV's Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, we were approached by agencies working alongside Apple TV. We utilized our social media channels to coordinate post schedules with official outlets and were given early access to season 2's media.
