The long-awaited Marvel Cinematic Universe film Spider-Man: Homecoming has finally begun principal photography in Pinewood Atlanta Studios, Georgia. This will be the first MCU film not do be distributed by Disney since they acquired Marvel back in 2009. Columbia Pictures, a subsidiary of Sony, will instead handle distribution, although Marvel Studios will still have creative control. Clown's Jon Watt's directs.
Spider-Man: Homecoming will take place after Captain America: Civil War (yay, not another origin story) and as Tom Holland did a fantastic job as the Webslinger in his all-too brief appearance in that film, it's safe to say that Homecoming could be the best Spider-Man film yet.
Robert Downey Jr will reprise his role as Tony Stark, and other confirmed cast members include Oscar winner Marisa Tomei as Aunt May and Michael Keaton as the currently unconfirmed villain (rumoured to be the Vulture).
Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theatres on July 7, 2017.
