The first reveal trailer for Mortal Kombat 11 (MK 11) has officially been unleashed online and it boasts some grotesquely awesome graphics and concepts. The trailer features Raiden battling Scorpion, much like the Sub-Zero vs. Scorpion reveal for Mortal Kombat X's reveal trailer. But as soon as it seems like Scorpion has been defeated by Raiden, an earlier version of Scorpion appears and kills Raiden! This footage suggests that MK 11 will introduce a form of time-travelling redemption. We can only assume for now, but we suspect time travel will play a key role in the new game's single player storyline and will also be a prominent combo for online multiplayer - likely a timed event following a defeat. More details concerning the "redemption" aspect should hopefully release soon.
Mortal Kombat 11 will launch April 23rd, 2019 with a community reveal event happening on January 17th, 2019.
Directed by Simon McQuoid, based on a screenplay by Jeremy Slater, Mortal Kombat II stars newcomer Karl Urban as Johnny Cage! Mortal Kombat 2's official release date is set for May 15th, 2026!
