Sony have seemingly reignited their interest in developing films for dormant properties they still own the rights to. This year Sony will release Venom, a spin-off movie set apart from Marvel's own MCU and own Spider-Man films and now, The Hollywood Reporter are reporting that the studio has another spin-off in development as well - Morbius.

Morbius The Living Vampire is a comic book anti-hero character who first appeared in issue #101 of the Amazing Spider-Man comic series. The film adaptation's script was penned by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, the same duo who wrote the script for the latest Power Rangers movie. A cast and director have yet to be announced.
It is unknown whether or not the Morbius movie will be connected to Marvel's MCU or will act as a separate entity like the upcoming Venom movie. A release date has also yet to be set. As new details arrive, we'll be sure to keep you updated!
