Actress / Kiteboarder, Maika Monroe has officially joined the cast for Independence Day 2! The actress who's known for her role in 2014's The Guest and 2013's Labour Day will join newcomers Liam Hemsworth, Jessie Usher, Travis Tope, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Joey King, as well as returning castmates Jeff Goldblum, Brent Spiner, Bill Pullman, Judd Hirsch and Vivica Fox as they battle a re-invading Alien force, 20 years after their first encounter with the hostile ETs in Independence Day.
Maika's role in Independence Day 2 has not yet been revealed, however we have a hunch she'll be portraying the now, grown-up daughter of President Thomas Whitmore (played by Bill Pullman). This would also mean she's the love interest of the story's new "hotshot pilot" early plot leaks suggested, who we expect to be portrayed by Liam Hemsworth. However until confirmed, these role associations are strictly speculation.
Independence Day 2 is currently filming in Albuquerque, New Mexico and lands in theaters June 24th, 2016!
