Currently, Canadian director James Cameron is working on a potential total of eight movies, virtually simultaneously. He is working with American director Robert Rodriguez on a live-action adaptation of Battle Angel: Alita, while working with Deadpool director Tim Miller on up to three new Terminator movies. With these two projects, Cameron will act as executive producer, and creative consultant, while also receiving a story credit. In the meantime, Cameron will be producing and directing his much-publicized four Avatar sequels, the filming of which is currently underway at Manhattan Beach, California.

Unlike many directors in Hollywood Cameron is involved with so many projects through design, not necessity, as following the release of 1997's Titanic and 2009's Avatar, the two most successful movies of all time (unadjusted), Cameron has earned the financial security to make movies if and when he wants to, a luxury very few directors get to enjoy. Being such a powerful and influential director Cameron has and continues to work with some of the biggest talents and stars in the film industry, such as the late, great Bill Paxton and the legendary visual effects artist Stan Winston, as well as enjoying a personal friendship with former Mr. Universe, former governor of California and action movie legend Arnold Schwarzenegger.

According to an exclusive report from Deadline Cameron is to reunite with the prolific British actress Kate Winslet, who starred alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in 1997's Titanic. Winslet, who will star opposite fellow British actor Idris Elba in The Mountain Between Us which opens in theaters this Friday, has reportedly joined the cast of Camerons forthcoming Avatar sequel, due for release December 18, 2020. Speaking to Deadline about the announcement Cameron said...
“Kate and I have been looking for something to do together for 20 years, since our collaboration on Titanic, which was one of the most rewarding of my career. I can’t wait to see her bring the character of Ronal to life.”
