It's now safe to say that Wendy indeed has a telepathic connection to the xenomorph for reasons yet unknown, and hopefully we'll get a good explanation for this. I sincerely hope she won't be fighting for the xenos or god forbid summoning them to fight by her side thus effectively erasing their horror factor (although it was already reduced in the dumb container sequence with the silliest xeno in the franchise)
In some well-needed exposition we've finally come to understand The Prodigy's motives to use children minds, as explained by Kavalier himself and he's an interesting character imo. Just wish he was more harsh or intense in arguments with his employees to convincingly show he's running the company and to a bit of well-needed drama aside from Wendy and Hermit's rare siblingship moments. We need more of this and less of most other childroids that frankly add little to nothing of weight to the plot. Curly's jealousy however, could be something interesting to spice things up in upcoming episodes.
I'm not sure what's up with Morrow but he seems to have gone rogue for some reason, unwilling to return to a debriefing with his superior yet desperately wanting to reclaim the specimens. He now appears confused and perhaps even traumatized as opposed to the cold discipline he showed previously.
Xenomorph vs Wendy was cringe and the worst part imo together with the useless male childroids in the ship who weren't terrified by the creature's onslaught but on the other very scared of Morrow.
They were only talking millions in 2179 but they were talking trillions in the Alien Earth tv show.
I just watched it again. Newt drowned and Hicks was impaled. They were both cremated.
They showed a frozen in time, screaming Newt and she was dead and autopsied. Ripley insisted they open her chest and it was determined by the doctor that she died of pneumonia. Hicks was dead because his chamber failed and the doctor said it was a horrible way to die. I wanted Ripley and Hicks to become involved. He clearly was mesmerized by her. I would have liked all 3 of them in an Alien 3 movie, but 2 died.
Kirsch is indeed interesting. I'm not sure if he's a double agent. Maybe he's more like David in Prometheus and wants to create his own destiny. For a second I thought he was going to let the boy "genius" get facehugged. I can see this playing out like the Jurassic Park movies where the monsters get loose and somebody (I'm not sure yet who) has to hit the old self destruct button to keep containment. That could explain the absence of Prodigy in the future.
I don't understand how Wendy could kill a xenomorph but not the Marines in Alien 2. Didn't they know about Wendy decapitating one of them and that was it's demise? Also, the money issue. How did it drop down in Alien 2 if Alien Earth came first?
I have watched both episodes three times and honestly, I think i'm going through the stages of grief over this series. Currently, i'm in denial... Thank god for Timothy Olyphant is all i'll say, Kirsh my fave character, along with Morrow. All the actors are good, imo. rnIt's not terrible, but so far I am underwhelmed to say the least. I'll try and keep an open mind and enjoy the rest of the episodes but to me something is off and I can't explain it, it's like "Temu Alien", if that makes any sense. I subbed to Disney+ to watch and support the show, *cries*. Oh well, at least I can enjoy the other Alien movies there, lol.
I'm hoping they answer questions like, why the xenomorph didn't attack Wendy when she was in the storage bin with her brother, before the end of the season and don't keep us hanging while they decide if and when there will be a season 2.
Maybe the boy genius is obsessed with venom.
Another thing, the lamps on Boy Kavalier's desk look like scorpion tails. Kirsh and Wendy talked about scorpions in the first scene of the series. Well, not the first, but the first where we see those two characters.
Good catch! I didn’t notice the Scorpion tail lights. There is some significant symbolism here, I wonder how it’ll come together down the road!
And your theory about Boy Cavalier wanting to use Wendy to communicate with the Xenomorph – you might be onto something.

Wondering how Morrow was able to communicate with the one hybrid and how did he figure out what they are? Seems like he have some kind of computer interface in his brain or is it a completely artificial brain?rnIn the scene in the egg room (let's call it that), after Morrow downloads the info into his brain, he attaches a small contact lens shaped tag onto Slightly's neck (it's on Morrow's fingertip, you see it sink into the boy's neck). He's using that to communicate with him.
Thanks.
Wendy clearly does have a telepathic connection to the Alien and its eggs… not sure how I feel about this yet. Is she going to fight “for” the Xenomorphs in the future? 😂 She seems to have a deep bond to them, more than Riley 8 ever had.
One thing I thought of too, is that I think Boy Kavalier might try and communicate with the Xenomorph though Wendy, she can talk to it and this would definitely interest him. He yearns for a mind-blowing conversation after all, can't get more interesting than talking to an Alien lifeform.
How come the boys act like very young children but not the girls?
Now that’s a good question 😂 It’s so true. I get girls are years ahead of boys during development, but the difference in their demeanour is quite significant.

Nothing really happened tonight. They are going to bore us all season and make us wait a long time for the answers in season 2. So many inconsistencies, like the amount of money the corporation was complaining about in Aliens 2 and how much more money corporations have in Alien Earth. The red headed girl reminds me of Lambert from the first movie, Alien. I hope her mind isn't being taken over by that eye octopus.

The Xenomorphs are supposed to be biomechanical right? Maybe they put out some kind of electrical noise or interference? She could either be picking up on the Xeno directly or if it's creating a disturbance in the various computer systems the Xeno is passing by.The other Synthetics don't appear to notice it. What makes her different? Maybe she originally was born with some kind of sixth sense and that carried over into the new body?
Yep, they are. When Prometheus, then Alien Covenant came out, I had thought David was gonna get facehugged and our Big Chap type biomechanical xenomorph would be born, alas that did not happen. As for Wendy, Boy K mentions that he gave Wendy a better brain than the others, so maybe it's that.
I originally thought Wendy was the one rejecting her body, but it looks like Nibs is the one it's happening to. That, or she is somehow in communication (or being controlled) with the eye monster, like Wendy is for the Xenomorph. I wonder if each of the kids will connect/communicate with each of the monsters, there's one for each of them I think.
Also, this made me laugh so hard lol.
Next we’ve got the trifecta of technologies – the Hybrids met the Cyborg Morrow and Synthetic Kirsh all in one scene. This was a pretty interesting scene cause it showed the differences and hierarchy of these technologies. It’s very clear that Synthetics are still the dominant tech when all 3 classes are compared. The hybrids will likely exceed them if they ever get a more advanced mind to inhabit them, but for now, Kirsh is the big man on campus. Morrow didn’t seem interested in fighting him, unlike his dominance over the Hybrids.
We also learn that Cyborgs are still susceptible to Facehugger attacks as Morrow nearly triggered the one egg to open before running away.
All in all I really enjoyed Kirsh’s scenes the most in this episode. By far the most interesting character and as always, the one who will drive the most curious plot points. Synthetics ftw.
Okay, so first up, the episode ended very strongly – Loving Kirsh’s character arc, he’s overtaken Morrow as my favorite character. As expected he seems to have an ulterior motive and an intense fascination with the Xenomorph.
The dissection of the Ovomorph (Alien egg) was a fantastic scene, wrangling the Facehugger and extracting the embryo was really fun to watch and was executed very well. Harvesting Hermit’s lung to be used as an incubator for the Chestburster - I did not see that coming. Getting to see the Chestburster embryo for the first time as well at this stage adds some new depth to the Xenomorph lore as well.

Now, where I complain is the Xenomorph “battle” if you can even call it that… for such a savage Alien, it didn’t use its tail once to attack Wendy when she had it by the second mouth. After using the tail very effectively against Hermit prior, I suspect the Alien was refraining from attacking Wendy due to their weird connection. But the fact she was able to kill it in a confined space really goes against everything we know the Xeno to be capable of. So it essentially let her kill it.
The peeking through the blinds scene was kinda funny too and should’ve shrouded the Xeno in darker shadows but that’s my main gripe. The fact it was strong enough to flip a shipping container over multiple times also - perplexed me. I know Xenomorphs are strong but that is… really strong.
I wonder which Xeno would come out on top if they DID fight.. 👀
My vote would go to Scorched.
Is the black goo in the DNA of the engineers and the xenomorph? If so, are we supposed to believe it is in humans?
To try to answer your question, Fede Alvarez said that the black goo is the root of all life, and Xenos especially come out of it and its part of them, and Engineers also came out of the pathogen, so that's why the Offspring had both Xenomorph and Engineer characteristics.
I guess that LV-223 Engineers were created using the black goo; the Planet 4 Engineers were more natural. So I think black goo has Xenomorph and Engineer DNA, which is why anything it mutates either has Xenomorph or Engineer traits, such as elongated head, biomechanical aspects, pale skin, acid blood, etc.
Furthermore, let's not derail from the topic.
(large chunks of text disappear when I post😱)
.....continued. Romulus stays on this path with the surgical extraction of the goo from the first big chap xenomorph (although this is a retcon as the idea of this goo never existed until the Prometheus script was rewritten and the everything-possible lore clay was conceived)
With this in mind, the goo exist in xenomorphs IF you follow above mentioned films. As for humans or engineers I have not seen any lore hints suggesting that the goo is in the DNA although the goo can "rewrite" human DNA so maybe it was in our system all along.
Is the black goo in the DNA of the engineers and the xenomorph? If so, are we supposed to believe it is in humans?
This is OT but according to the story in Prometheus and in chronological order, the Engineers created us using the black goo. Alien Covenant further built upon this creation idea as David 8 had been experimenting with the goo on planet 4 for several years until he managed to scientifically develop/grow the first eggs which as we know (and without spoiling for those who haven't seen A:C) lead to the first protomorph (predecessor to the xenomorph)
Does this make sense?
I'm not sure of the connection yet but I'm assuming there's something to the music selections at the end of the episodes.Black Sabbath - The Mob RulesTool - StinkfistA quick review of the lyrics didn't reveal anything or I missed the connection. The imagery of Tool is very simpatico.
SciFiExplained on YouTube had a good interpretation of Black Sabbath. go to 24:06 if you don't want to watch the whole video

If that's the one with Sigourney with acid blood, I hated it.

The look the boy genius got from his female employee was the same look David gave to his "master" when he told him to pour his tea. Watch out boy genius. Is he supposed to be Elon Musk?
Ep.3 dropping tomorrow. So excited.
I wonder which Xeno would come out on top if they DID fight.. 👀
The Romulus Xenomorph looks like a mix of the 1979 Big Chap and the Resurrection cloned Xenomorphs. While the Earth Xenomorph (that everyone calls Bear) to me looks like a mix of the 1979 Xenomorph and the Alien 3 Runner design. I prefer the Romulus design, though it doesn't mean I'd get an NECA figure of Earth Xeno.
The thread thumbnail looks like they're about to fight in a boxing ring.
Alien boxing game, when?
🤣🤣 That Xeno is yoked to the gills! He's 100% natty! He uh eats raw liver.
The Xeno Trens hard Anavar gives up 💪🏻

More of a back story of the Maginot ship , more info of there travels way before crashing back into earth ,,, more a story line . just hoping
how could you guys not loving the show. The chasing and killing scenes are all incredible lol oh yes, my favorite is the xenomorph moon walking by the door window
That was pretty good 😂 Although the rest of that sequence was pretty decent I will admit, the way the Xenomorph viciously broke into the room and tried to get to Morrow. I actually really liked that entire scene.
The new gameplay looks solid, I was also checking out the jenny mod recently and it reminded me how different mechanics can change the way you approach action games.
🤣🤣 That Xeno is yoked to the gills!
he's a smooth criminal
