SuperAlien She has the attitude/mentality and sort of the look of Mother, but I don't hear that face melting scream. Mother wouldn't rent a cheap hotel and post her meltdown on social media- no. Mother just kills people and scares kids!

Has the Cave Painting Scene happened by EP5 yet?

The Monolith does appear like it had been on Kepler22B for some Time and maybe RS etc are Borrowing from Space 2001 a little ;)

The Cult follow a Religion that is like Mithraism and the God of Mithraism was BORN from a Rock so maybe this is what that Scene could eventually imply?

Could the Cave Painting be indicating the Monolith?

I suppose that is the symbol of the Sun since the Mithraic worship the Sun.

That Sun is the The Vergina Sun which is Connected to Helios which is Connected to Mithraism

The Pentagram however is also 12 Sides and so that could Connect to the 12 Disciples or 12 Tribes of Israel well that what a 12 Sided Pentagram usually Symbolizes

The Mosaics seem to be the 7 Grades of Initiation of the Mithraism Cult/Religion.

Do you remember the prisoner with the bucket on his head? He has similar spikes as the sculpture below.

The statue of liberty has such spikes as well.

dk the spoiler was about Marcus having sex with his wife, no details given. You are safe.

Roger G I haven't, from what I read Mather has other skills. If this happens in episode 5 and Marcus is still alive in the end, then it's his wife, not Mother. Maybe he dreams of Mother during intercourse with his wife, but that would be cheap. I think you are mislead.

Roger G I see you are looking for deeper meanings and mythological implications in RBW and I am sure there are many.

I didn't see any episode yet, but I read that, being asked about her name, Mother replies: Lamia. Lamia is a mythical character from ancient Greek mythology, I just copied something from Wikipedia below, that would help understand Mother a little better, including the shapeshifting you mentioned earlier.

In the myth, the Lamia was originally a beautiful woman beloved of Zeus, but after Zeus's jealous wife Hera destroyed all her children, or caused Lamia herself to kill her own offspring, she became disfigured from the torment, transforming into a terrifying being who hunted and killed the children of others.

According to one myth, Hera deprived Lamia of the ability to sleep, making her constantly grieve over the loss of her children, and Zeus provided relief by endowing her with removable eyes. He also gifted her with a shapeshifting ability in the process.

Now I do not know how well we could mix an android story with ancient mythology,  especially having a shapeshifting android raping a human, I'll see in about two months.

The picture of the Mithraic temple reminds me of Jor-El on Krypton, perhaps because of the white robe and the colorful set.

By looking at the pictures it is quite different from what I imagined, so whatever spoilers I read I am sure it will suprise me, hopefully in a good way.

This is a nice movie, I should add this to my watch list.

 I have noticed in the pictures posted on internet that there are two apparitions of Mother, the one with the shiny grey jumper suit and another one in a whiite robe.
