According to an earlier statement published by the Namibia Film Commission, the production had invested somewhere in the region of N$100 million in the form of revenue to local businesses and private individuals in the Erongo Region. This estimate did not include any of the considerable personal expenditure made by the crew in local shops, restaurants, lodges and the many excellent tourist attractions available to them. The production employed over 900 Namibian crew; not including local sub-contractors and supplies.

"Recent media reports about the non-rehabilitation of the sites where the film was shot has been proven to be false and therefore, I wish to call on all Namibians to support such projects," said Kaapanda during his budget statement last week. Kaapanda also announced that the ministry has doubled its budget to N$679 million this year to make provision for similar projects for the next financial year. "During the 2012/13 financial year, seven short films were marketed at International festivals and seven local projects were funded, which created 200 temporary jobs in Khomas and Erongo regions," he said.
