Kyle Yount, the mastermind behind the extraordinary Kaijucast, unveiled his independent Godzilla documentary at G-FEST this past weekend! Titled Hail to the King: 60 Years of Destruction, Yount's film takes fans to Japan to explore how the King of the Monsters and tokusatsu is perceived in their homeland.
Interviewing young fans, independent filmmakers and cast members of classic kaiju masterpieces, such as Akira Takarada, Yoshio Tsuchiya, Akira Kubo and Yukiko Kobayashi, Yount's film is a fascinating look at how Godzilla's legacy is being preserved. The best part about this is that fans can now watch it for free!
What is the future of kaiju films? Is there a place in cinema for tokusatsu today? Do people still love Godzilla? All of this and more is explored in Hail to the King: 60 Years of Destruction, now on Youtube. Thanks Mr. Yount for your hard work and dedication to fans for creating it and keeping Kaijucast running.
