The late Ghostbuster Harold Ramis, whom played Egon Spengler, directed the 1983 cult classic comedy National Lampoon's Vacation, based on a script by John Hughes in which the Griswold family race across America on an ill fated trip to Walley World, starring Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo in the iconic roles of the families parents, Clark and Ellen Giriswold.
This week the Griswold's are back in this summers new comedy Vacation, but this time the torch has been passed from Clark to his son Rusty (this time played by Ed Helms) to get his family to the fabled Walley World. Written and directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein (pictured above), this R-rated comedy looks set to relive and rekindle the spirit of the original movie.
Speaking to NPR recently to promote Vacation, Daley and Goldstein revealed that they will be penning the script for the all new Spider-Man; heres what the duo had to say...
Daley: "We can finally acknowledge that."
Goldstein: "We've been saying no comment for the last week."
Daley: "This is the first time that we can say that we are writing it."
Goldstein: "We're thrilled."
Daley: "... He's a sharp kid and witty and kind of deals with the fact that he's an outcast and a geek through humor. It is sort of the safety net for geeks like us, so I think we can totally relate to where he's coming from. As well as the superpowers, which we also have."
