Dutch actress Sylvia Hoeks has been hired for the leading role alongside Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Robin Wright, Ana de Armas and Dave Bautista in the 'Blade Runner' sequel.
Directing the film will be Denis Villeneuve (Sicario) from a script written by original Blade Runner co-writer Hampton Fancher and Michael Green (Alien: Covenant, Smallville). Filming is scheduled to begin in July.
Blade Runner was based on Philip K. Dick's 1968 dystopian novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? There is no word yet on what the story will be for the sequel. The film opens in North America on Oct. 6, 2017
