The British have contributed two of the biggest heroes in TV and movie history. For the small screen the Brits have given us the quirky, time travelling mystery man known as Doctor Who, and for the big screen the Brits have given us the chauvinistic, remorseless secret agent 007 AKA James Bond. Both of these timeless heroes have enjoyed many decades in the spotlight, both good and bad. Though both properties started out well and became worldwide phenomenons, they both have experienced 'drops' in their desirability, ironically for both during the 1980's and 90's - Doctor Who became tired with sub-par special effects and frankly prepostorous storylines, and Bond faced ever more outlandish megalomaniac's set upon world domination.
Thankfully in the mid nineties to the dawn of the new millenium things changed. Doctor Who was rebooted by Russell T. Davies and Stephen Moffat, with more grounded characters and series long story arc's, whereas James Bond dropped the megalomania and returned to the world of espionage with 1995's Goldeneye, starring Lawnmower Man and Mrs Doubtfire actor Pierce Brosnan. Brosnan went on to become a firm favorite within the role, with many peoples top three Bonds being Sean Connery, newcomer Daniel Craig and Brosnan himself.
Now comes news from the man himself in a recent interview with Digital Spy that he could be appearing alongside Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Terry Crews and co. in a future Expendables movie...
"Oh, the offer has come in for the next Expendables. I just worked over in Bulgaria with Avi Lerner who makes them. He said, 'Would you like to be in The Expendables? I'd love to have you', and I said, 'Why not?' So we'll see. I have no idea which one it would be, I just said yes. It could be Expendables 7!"
Meanwhile, to help promote the third instalment in the action hero ensemble franchise co-founder and lead actor of the franchise Sylvester Stallone has appeared as hisalter ego Barney Ross in an explosive, action packed commercial for Remia Real American BBQ Sauces, which you can enjoy below...
