The first trailer for the highly anticipated Pacific Rim sequel, Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018) will officially debut on October 6th, 2017 at this year's New York Comic-Con! New York Comic-Con's website confirmed the presence of Legenday and Universal Picture's trailer unveiling by posting the following:
PACIFIC RIM UPRISING director Steven S. DeKnight will be joined by stars John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Burn Gorman and Cailee Spaeny—as well as moderator Aaron Sagers, SYFY WIRE’s editor-at-large—to discuss the upcoming action-adventure from Legendary and introduce the world premiere of the new trailer. The follow-up to 2013’s cinematic epic of monsters and mechs, the film will inspire a new generation to become the biggest heroes to ever walk the earth. Also starring Jing Tian, Rinko Kikuchi, Adria Arjona and Charlie Day, PACIFIC RIM UPRISING hits theaters March 2018.
No trailer for Pacific Rim: Uprising (aka. Pacific Rim 2) was presented at this summer's San Diego Comic-Con, but Legendary and Universal did provide fans with some marketing fun to keep the hype alive. Launching a viral website which allowed fans to "Join the Jaeger Uprising" was unveiled, along with some footage of the various new Jaegers which will be present in the upcoming film. Costumes from the film were also on display, along with a close-up of some of the film's merchandise as well.
