The Pacific Rim TV series has officially entered development! Back in August of 2024 it was announced that a series based on the Guillermo del Toro Kaiju universe was being explored as part of a partnership deal between Legendary Entertainment and Eric Heisserer's Chronology. A fresh report by Variety has confirmed that series is now in active development and has found its home at Amazon's MGM Studios!

Eric Heisserer will still act as writer and executive producer under Chronology.
While no specific plot details have been released, we know the Pacific Rim series will act as a prequel to the films, taking place before Guillermo del Toro's 2013 original.
Not only that - apparently there are plans to explore more Pacific Rim movies on the table as well, Variety insiders report!
