Netflix have announced plans to stream a fresh, new anime series set in the world of Pacific Rim! Led by Craig Kyle and Greg Johnson, the new anime series will aim to expand the franchise past what was established on-screen with Pacific Rim and Pacific Rim: Uprising. A title for the series has yet to be officially announced.
Unfortunately, Pacific Rim: Uprising did not perform as well as Legendary were hoping when it released at the box office in 2017, which means a third film installment is unlikely to enter production anytime soon. Thankfully the franchise will remain active within the Kaiju community via this upcoming new anime series.
Although the target audience for the series is Asia, it is suggested that anime fans across the world will have access to watch as well, much like the recent Godzilla anime series.
Currently no release date has been announced. As we learn more, we'll be sure to keep you updated!
