Confirming early speculations, the new official plot synopsis for Pacific Rim Uprising confirms that Rinko Kikuchi will in fact be reprising her role as Mako Mori in the Pacific Rim sequel! John Boyega plays Jake Pentecost son of Stacker Pentecost (Idris Elba), making Mako Mori his adopted sister. In Pacific Rim Uprising, Mako is responsible for training a new, young generation of Jaeger pilots. The new plot synopsis also gives us the name of Scott Eastwood's character; Lambert. John Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) stars as the rebellious Jake Pentecost, a once-promising Jaeger pilot whose legendary father gave his life to secure humanity’s victory against the monstrous “Kaiju.” Jake has since abandoned his training only to become caught up in a criminal underworld.
