The second official trailer for Denis Villeneuve's hotly anticipated sequel to Ridley Scott's 1982 science fiction noir classic has been released, with heavy inference into the movies well-guarded mystery that the director and studio are no doubt hoping will not backfire on them and anger fans. It would seem, from the hints within this new trailer, that the world changing secret that will be uncovered by Ryan Gosling's Officer K may have something to do with the true purpose behind the creation of the movies iconic Replicants.
As hinted at in the original movie, its pseudo sequel Soldier, and this new trailer, Replicants were created to be the ultimate slave labor - dependable, reliant and expendable. With hordes of replicant slaves doing mankind's bidding society became gluttonous and stagnant, as we saw in the original movie. Yet what if, and this is mere speculation, Neander Wallace (Jared Leto), whom may be a replicant himself, intends on replacing the human race with its successor - the Replicants.
