As Dr. Okun once said, The last 24 hours have been really exciting. With the release of the official trailer for Independence Day: Resurgence, new information has unraveled showing the alien's new weapon capabilities.
Several scenes in the trailer indicate new Earth eating vehicles have been deployed. As seen in this photo, this new alien structure is destroying Washington D.C (again).

A similar structure is also seen in the beginning of the trailer, in which Jeff Goldblum's character travels to the Congo. From information gathered at warof1996.com, the city-destroyer that crashed in the region had survivors, in which the local government would battle for another 10 years insiting they did not need the help of the Unifed Earth forces.

These alien super structures can be seen almost terraforming the Earth, and are very similar to what was witnessed in the first concept art for the film that was released this past summer.

While at this moment in time it is pure speculation what this alien structure is capable of doing, we know it is up to no good. To be honest, I just feel bad that Washington, D.C gets obliterated again. I mean those guys don't get a break.
