Mexican director Guillermo del Toro recently joined Twitter, and has made his presence felt with dozens of posts every since he created his account, inbetween countless interviews to promote his new movie, gothic romance Crimson Peak. One such tweet suggests that Pacific Rim: Maelstroms future may be less certain than Guillermo recently ascertained, while also possibly adding a new cast member...

Wether or not the young actress will get her chance to pilot a Jaeger remains in the hands of Legendary Pictures. The fact that the movie made less impact in the box office than Legendary would have liked, and that the production companies owns the production rights to possibly the two biggest international recgnized Kaiju properties Godzilla and King Kong, both of which have future movies in development; the future of Pacific Rim is looking morea and more uncertain.
