Legendary Pictures are currently in a bidding war with former partners Warner Brothers and Sony Pictures over the rights to produce a live action Pokémon movie.
The challenge facing Legendary right now though, is a result of their recent acquisition by China's Wanda Group. Pokémon is a Japanese property. However, Legendary's relationship with the Japanese film market may prove to benefit them enough for the opportunity to take on such a beloved (and profitable) franchise.

If it comes down to two of the three studios above, we're hoping either Legendary or Warner Bros. acquire the property. Sony's track record with beloved franchises has been a sad disappointment recently.
As new updates concerning this case surface, we'll be sure to keep you updated!
