In early October Kikaider Reboot was given an extremely limited theatrical release in North America. Screened only in Honolulu, the film's run proved to be very successful. Initially the film was only supposed to run until October 16th, but it didn't leave theaters until October 30th.
With a more enthusiastic North American impression, compared to its fairly mundane Japanese reception, Generation Kikaida has bought the rights to the movie for an official Region 1 DVD release. There is currently no word on a possible Bluray edition and no exact date either. It is presumed the film will be available this December.
Kikaider Reboot synopsis: After robot engineer Dr. Nobuhiko Komyoji dies, he leaves behind the android Kikaider to defend his children from his rivals. His offspring hold the key to completing his advanced ARK Project which could fall in the wrong hands if Kikaider fails.
