Kamen Rider Drive keeps impressing with every new bit of information that's released. Recently a short teaser had been released. It was apparently an appetizer for the full length trailer.
The trailer introduces the [hilarious] cast to the audience and gives us a better look at the Kamen Rider Drive system as well as his various modes. The suit has a Metal Heroes vibe to it that's fused with the older Kamen Rider aesthetics. (Bug like eyes, a head piece with an antenna-esque car wing.)
Originally my only complaint about the suit was the "tire" around the chest piece. I understand it's going for a race car look, but I thought it was a bit much. Now we see its function. The trailer reveals Kamen Rider Drive's different modes give him a different "wheel" around his chest piece that's used as a weapon. Very cool. The design choice sits better now that I know it has a function.
Take a look at the full trailer:
Kamen Rider Drive will premiere October 5th.
The Kamen Rider Drive vs. Kamen Rider Gaim movie is also teased at the trailer's end. It will be released in Japanese theaters December 13th.
