Damn you to hell Liam Neeson. Following the phenomenal success of 2008's Taken Hollywood has been quick to cash in with a plethora of similarly themed neo-noir vigilante action thrillers. Taken has since become a trilogy and its star has extended his moody arse-kicking into movies such as A Walk Among The Tombstones and Non-Stop. With fellow actors such as Denzel Washington joining the fray in 2014's The Equalizer and Keanu Reeves getting even as John Wick, it looks like the Revenge-Action movie is back in fashion.
While these movies may not be science fiction they are an enjoyable guilty pleasure where rights get wrongs and bones get broken, all in ruthlessly efficient style. In the above trailer for John Wick: Chapter 2 we see Keanu Reeves return as the titular former mob hitman. Fans of the star will love the reunion with his The Matrix co-star Laurence Fishburne. Revenge junkies will also be glad to hear that Denzel will also be returning soon in a sequel to The Equalizer which is set for a September 29, 2017 release. John Wick: Chapter 2 will hit theaters February 10th, 2017.
