Disney / Fox and James Cameron are going to be extremely busy for the next 8 years with the long-awaited sequels to Cameron's original Avatar which released nearly 10 years ago in 2009. Instead of the originally planned 3 Avatar films, Cameron has extended the trilogy to total 5 films all together.
Disney just recently unveiled their release date roster for every upcoming Avatar film. Up until this point, Avatar 2 and 3 release dates kept getting moved around, it seemed like we would never actually see the sequels come to fruition, but since Disney took over Fox and with that, Avatar, we finally have some concrete release dates to look forward to. Check out the release dates for Avatar 2 to 5 below:
- Avatar 2 release date: Dec. 17th, 2021

Avatar 3 release date: Dec. 22nd, 2023

Avatar 4 release date: Dec 14th, 2025

Avatar 5 release date: Dec 17th, 2027
