Deapools Ryan Reynolds wants Cable in a X-Force movie!

With the Deadpool movie now entering post production, and after the overwhelming response to the footage shown at the recent Comic Con in San Diego, star Ryan Reynolds is looking to the characters future, and 20th Century Fox's plans to have its own cinematic universe centred around their X-Men movies. Reynolds recently spoke to ComicBook.com...

Reynolds: “I mean who wouldn’t want to spend more time with Wolverine? Hugh and I have such history together. I can’t imagine it’d ever happen in a stand-alone film, but if there was the right place and right time - wouldn’t it be great?”

“I’d also love to see X-Force develop too and turn into something pretty cool.”

ComicBook.com: Do you see Deadpool leading an X-Force team?

Reynolds: “I always see Deadpool running against the grain for everything he does. He can’t possibly conform to any sort of leadership role. He always has to be the wild card. So you’d have to have someone like Cable running point on a team like X-Force. I'd love for that to be a next step that we take.”

A fan favourite for the role of Cable is Terminator and Aliens star Michael Biehn, whom is currently involved in the production of Neill Blomkamp's new Alien movie. Whether or not the actor would be interested in taking on the iconic role, in a (likely) repeating role, remains to be seen, should Deadpool be a box office success and the studio wish to expand their X-Men universe with an X-Force movie. The likelihood of Hugh Jackman returning however seems less likely, with the actor having repeatedly and publicly announced that the upcoming Wolverine movie he will be making with director James Mangold is to be his last ever in the role. However, this is not the first time Jackman has claimed he would be hanging up the claws – time will tell.
