Fathom Events will distribute Warner Bros.'s upcoming animated film Batman: The Killing Joke in 1075 cinemas, making it the second animated DC film to receive a wide release on American screens after Mask of the Phantasm back in 1993. It's also the first R-rated animated DC movie.
The screenings will only last for one day: July 25, at both 7:30pm and 10:30pm. It hits home video on August 2nd.
Based on Alan Moore and Brian Bolland's bestselling graphic novel, The Killing Joke tells the story of how Batman's clown arch-nemesis might have came to be the monster that the world sees him as. Fan favourites Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill will return to voice Batman and the Joker respectively.
