FUNimation, the popular North American anime distributor for Attack on Titan, (and other popular anime such as Dragon Ball Z and Neon Genesis Evangelion) announced today that they will distribute the live action Attack on Titan movies for American theaters and home video. (This includes South America as well.)
“Attack on Titan is truly a worldwide phenomenon and we are excited to bring the live action movie to theaters across the Americas later this fall,” said FUNimation CEO Gen Fukunga, revealing tentative plans to release the film(s) in American theaters late this year.
Additionally, the first Attack on Titan movie will make its world premiere in Hollywood, July 14th. The debut will be held at the Egyptian Theater featuring a red carpet event with with director Shinji Higuchi (special effects director of the Gamera Trilogy, co-director of Godzilla '16) and stars Haruma Miura (Eren Yeager) and Kiko Mizuhara (Mikasa Ackerman).
Attack on Titan will premiere in Japanese theaters August 1st, 2015. The movie's sequel, Attack on Titan: End of the World will hit September 9th, 2015. The world premiere will take place July 14th, 2015 in Hollywood.
