I used them for my 'SUPER 8' caps (simple 3 dot logo) came out fine using the white base caps ... the mugs came out ok too using white ones ... got to admit I haven't tried the black base caps yet ... but they're only for me and me mates ... ;) ... need to phone another mate because he was starting his own merchandise printing ...

@snorkel true but I don't think a writer can be blamed for how a movie turns out...I bet if you read the original Alien script it sounded like sheer B-movie nonsense (the character then gets attacked by an egg and something attaches to his face), it's all in the execution I really think these Strause ass*oles need to be banned from conventions and the such, the material was treated with utter disrespect, I don't care if they even meant well Im really happy Ridley is back in the driving seat even if he does mess up, at least he respects the alien and film making in general

Just an fyi.. I use Vistaprint extensively for my biz.. You can get GREAT cards, brochures, posters & outdoor signs from them, but the hats are garbarge! I have tried that part of the service and its a direct to product sort of transfer.. almost like ink jet printing on cloth. The result is very poor. But, if you keep it to a WHITE hat like it looks like you are doing, the result might be a little better.

^^That would explain the decapitated bodies/suits lying around and could relate to the idea that the gods did overthrow the Titans. I'm still thinking they need at least one of the other species alive, and this guy is forced to help in their genetic experiments. Only because they're not the true genetic masters in this theory. They've devolved to using the fire as a weapon, and the other race attempted to stop them on Earth in the past. However it was too late. Their creation had misused the power it was given for too long and some were able to escape the Earth after their kingdoms fell, challenging their creators for the attempted destruction of their civilization. Reappearing on mountain tops as "gods".

I've never seen any shot of a blue guy IN the chair. Someone is in it , but no telling who at this point. I've been saying there are two races involved here for a while. Something about the bio-mechanical suit's appearance and the blue guys doesn't add up. I believe there was some kind of violent conflict or uprising before the crew gets to the planet, with the biomechanoids/guys in the SJ suits losing.

@ Giger Not necessarily if they stole their tech and now use it to keep their god-like status. I really think Ridley is trying to throw us off. If you follow the myths the Gods replace the Titans in the hierarchy and Prometheus is one of the last remaining titans after the war. Indeed, he's more of an indentured servant who works to create the next round of humans as CanadaPhil said. I'm working from the idea that the Gods are really just advanced humanoids who challenged our true creators and won. The original 6 Titans were called the Elder Gods and created life and the planets, but the Gods and the Atlanteans both inherit their power at some point. You can argue that the fire was taken from the Titans in the first place, and that's why Prometheus rebels against the Olympian gods and gives the fire to the humans. Of course, we began to misuse it back then and Zeus became angry with us and it was Atlantis all over again. He flooded the Caucasus mountain area and tasked Epimetheus with creating Pandora's box of horrors (the monsterous plague). Atlanteans misuse the power and get their selves destroyed...mostly, then some lash out against the Titans with the Olympians.

I believe the same people who made the art, made the dots. These marks may be ingrained in the collective subconscious of mankind, or the artists could have received some kind of telepathic urging or similar. Think of Roy receiving the image of the mountain in Close Encounters and his obsessive urge to make a model of it.

@Ashmodean: because once all that multi-bazillion dollar equipment gets the Marines to the fight, they're going to spend a lot of time on their FEET. Point being, it's funny seeing old gear recycled and worn on troops supposedly 200 years in the future. They did do a great job with it though, especially the M-41a. Hey, at least they weren't carrying M-16s. Oh wait, that flamethrower looks familiar...

That guy is not even the right size for a Jockey "PILOT" as depicted in 79's Alien or even by the scale of the SJ bodies and head they find in Prometheus. For all we know, that could be a Blue Meanie attempting to take off and pilot the vessel himself when normally this would have been a task relegated to the BIG slave SJ's. I liken it to "bosses" never soil their own fingers with the grunt work right? It normally would have been delegated to an underling.... The Slave SJ's.

Sure Snorkle... but I think of AVP as a good "popcorn" kind of flick to be kept separate from everything else. It works well as a short 90 minute stand alone story. Cheezy, sort of fun. I EVEN OWN IT. (But I dont own Predator 2, AVP Requiem or PredatorS) I think the problem for these movies is that it COMPLETELY DESTROY's any mystique the Xenomorph may have had left. It basically likens them to be nothing more than corn fed deer on a gated preserve being chased by big hillbilly hunters with big frikkin lay-sers.

Until proved otherwise, I'm definately imagining that the 'space-jockey' seat is really a 'gun-emplacement' for firing several 'ampules' at once towards various planets when the 'derelict'-ship(s?) are nearby them...to 'seed' them with their contents... There's also a shot of 'David' approaching what looks like stacked columns of numerous 'ampules', and I agree with those that have said this is an 'armoury' room of some sort where they have been neatly stacked ready for use...possibly in VARIOUS combinations... The clincher for me at this stage, is the fact that when the very tip of the 'gun-emplacement' is seen rising up towards us from a 'birds-eye' view angle, there seems to be about a dozen 'ampules' pre-loaded into it. I don't have time to add the photo of this at the moment, but I'm sure most will know what shot I'm meaning. The only thing I'm not sure about is where this 'seeding' gun will exit the 'derelict' to do this. Perhaps the 'window' area directly above opens up somehow, or there's another 'opening' for the 'ampules' to fire through instead... I think...

well, isn't there a clear shot in one of the trailers showing a "blue meanie" melding with the "SJ chair"? I would think that would blow the "SJ aren't the Big Blue Guys" theory up, right?

I have been thinking along Mark's line for sometime now and posted on it in some of the Jockey related threads. I have a bit of a different take though and its that the Blue Meanies are indeed the overlords and the Jockey's have always been their indentured servants or Slaves... Also, its going to turn out that the Jockey's are the literal Prometheus in this story and have been punished for what they have done to anger the Blue Meanies. I also think the Jockey's are still alive, but who knows. If one were to follow the idea that the angered the Blue Meanies at the dawn of man and were wiped out at that time.... well that would be somewhere around 50 - 100,000 years ago right (when most scientists think we began evolving from our more primitive ape cousins correct?)... Then the dead Derelict on LV426 would have to be at least 50 milenia old right?... Who knows.

It amazes me when people say "Alien is a classic, a masterpiece, but AVP is one of the worst films ever made". You do realise they were both written by the late, great Dan O'Bannon, and if it wasn't for him none of us would be here, discussing Prometheus.

Poseidon's also Zeus's brother so some of the Atlantean kings can be lumped together with the Gods... he can also be compared to Lucifer in some ways, and the trident can be compared to the devil's pitchfork. As well, the Egyptians spoke of them less highly: as a war mongering people who got themselves destroyed with their science.

I was desensitised with movies as kid, I always saw them as story's and thought more about what was going on behind the camera. Although Prince of Darkness had a nasty hopelessness about it.... _I was banned from drawing Aliens or talking about them at school haha I'm not joking ether!

I enjoy all of them for what they are. I don't particularly care if they are not canonical.

I've allways dreamed of a real sci-fi game. Mass Effect is good but it's just an rpg-shooter with a sci-fi theme. EVE does an excellent job but misses the experience of being a valuble part of a ships crew. No game has ever pulled off using cool sci-fi gadgets in a meaningful way either.

Little human creations, when you worship your creator, direct your worship over here. I don't expect you will ever actually come for a visit.
