I've yet to see anything really "spoilerish" yet. Some disconnected images and a vague bit of storyline about a star formation and ancient cultures. Not really enough to ruin a movie for me. More it make me even more curious. Though the staggered release date is going to ruin it. The Russian release a week early mean a good quality version will be floating out there. Wonder how many people give in and watch it?

This entry from the timeline (at least 40 years prior to Prometheus launch is also very intriguing. Could a certain "someone" have been a part of this exploration crew???.... I'm sure out of all the speculations that have been tossed around on here - somebody has already guessed right. Question is, who?

There's no way to guess correctly how this movie will go at this time, but a week out from release I will go into self imposed information blackout. I'm treating this film as an event....1st day viewing, prime theater and seat....no possible information contamination....the purest experience possible. Very rare that a film qualifies as an event to me

Remember, SJ's can probably get up and walk around in this movie. They're not just bio-mech suits that form and are locked in the chair forever. Remember the one's lining the hallway behind Shaw in that earlier pic? (there's 4 of them in that shot BTW). If they're statues, how would the sculpter have known to add legs if the suit only originates/locks the wearer into the chair? If they're suits, then much like the space suits hanging around various parts of the Prometheus ship, they are there for the taking... like suits of armour in a castle. Or perhaps the chair creates the suit and once intigrated with the "host" the suit and it's wearer are free to stay put until their "chair task" is completed and then they are free to move about as independent SJ's. But, if an SJ goes and sits in the chair, the opposite effect is had, perhaps (like in the new trailer)? The suit de-intigrates itself from the host and reveals who/what they are inside. Implying many various species could become SJ's... hmmm... similar in concept to a xeno taking over the traits of its host? Connection? Collating...

It just struck me that if you go over it, it seems like his youth and young adult life is consumed with aiding the human race in a non-destructive manner... I mean he is coming up with cures for CANCER!! new replenishable energy sources, global warming and the polar ice caps, getting Noble Peace prizes, etc, etc. etc!!! And then around 2025ish its like a switch gets flicked in his mind and that he is obsessed with advanced weaponary and the colonization or conquering?? of deep space... almost as if he has become aware of some dark secret and that he knows that if he wants it, he is probably going to have take it by force!!

Pic # 2, the eel thing going into the person's suit. I've tried to figure out exactly who's arm this might be, I've looked at every photo I can find where you can see details of the different suits worn by the crew members, I can't find anything that looks quite like that.

Well Weyland has staff working at, what? 36 other off world colonies out there ... so all his products are distributed to them not just on the Prometheus ... I would say imho weaponry is limited to individuals ... but saying that we don't know what other species the other colonies have met ... But a good point raised tho Phil ...

There are no spoilers except the trailers and interviews . The Empire article gave away more spoilers than us in 5 months ... whining about this forum is ridicolous and one can simply avoid to read here . The trailers ARE spoilers ...Interviews and articles ARE spoilers ...we just do some speculations and thoeries ....we are innocent ^^

Well i guess the only way around it, is to avoid having a look on here or indeed other sites and youtube. Especially after the UK release because it will get discused and spoilt. As soon as The Thing came out in the US i avoided Youtube on the subject untill i saw The Thing myself or i would have spoilt the movie, like i did by looking at leaked footage of Cloverfield on Youtube before watching the Movie.

I dont think the goo has anything to do with "terraforming" planets. I think the Engineers simply select worlds that already have the basic building blocks in place and seed life into these worlds using variations of their DNA forms that are suited to whatever particular planetoid/moon/whatever.

Who knows.... Maybe as on Earth there are different fractions within the Space Jockey Race. It could be like say the US have been visiting and seeded a planet in our past, but a War Broke out and the not to nice Nazis take over. In future the race the US seeded comes to Earth to find only the not so nice Nazi's and when these vistors start to mess about with the Nazi Technology the Nasty Nazi's say enough is enough we are gonna go wipe your homeoworld out. I do think that in this movie it is the actions of the crew that causes the Space Jockeys to want to put a Stop to us all.

Who's to say that is Shaw on the table in THAT particular scene? ... could be Vickers as she's also in MedLab bandages in one scene ... she aint doing pressups ... I'll put a fiver on that ... :) ...

So i think that the Blue Guys Suit is just a Bio Mechanical/Organic version of Tony Starks Iron Man Suit.

[img]http://dougbot.com/forum/prometheusDiscovery.jpg[/img] So if the SJ in Alien is the SJ and thus as some want, a giant elephant type creature, then please explain the object B and why it apears that Blue Meanie guy raises the Pilot Chair and walks over to it. The SJ with no head in the other image on internet, has a simular suit to the Blue Guy and the Head/Helmet on the Table looks like the Helmet/Head of the SJ in the seat of Prometheus. I would say that Blue Man = Space Jockey, and that when he sits in the seat the Mask will cover his head and attach itself to him, then the seat will attach to him where the rib type structure becomes a harness/seat belt. The Mask the breathing apparatus to allow Blue Guy to breath in space when the Derelict/Jockey Ships enters Space.

While I like that because it ascribes a purpose and perhaps a consciousness to the "Engineered" I can't say anything as I haven't seen the movie. Those ships are big, I think Alien only scratched the surface of a very DEEP rabbit hole.

Maybe the xenomorphs act as anti bodies to protect the "living ship"

I can't say if the maps are from the collective subconscious of all those different primative civilizatons, or were they depicted as the only means these people had of preserving information given to them by an extraterrestrial visitation. According to the website Weyland had the Heliades FTL technology before the apparent corellation of distinct archaeological discoveries from different terrestrial locations. I wonder if he sent an unmanned probe there(Zeta Ret) prior to the launch of Prometheus. To gather recon data, then brought it back. The round trip would be faster than waiting for images sent back. Also conclussive data that something tangible was there would insure a much easier time proposing, and getting the backing for a manned expedition.

Maybe but then where are the rest of the crew/mercs in the gun shooting scene they come through that door. Looking at the scenes, i think and i could be wrong that some of the crew are torching something or some objects. Then Fifield Mutant ambushes them to stop what ever they was doing and starts to throw the flammer guys around, and he is then stopped by the mercs comming ruinning in with guns blazzing.

If you look closely at the picture at the top of this web site, the one with the intro about Engineers in Prometheus, you might notice that the figure is much smaller than the person the chair was designed for. There is a curved shoulder "bracket" well above the shoulder of the occupant.

The first image could be from the cut scene in the movie that will be about the begining of Mankinds Time on Earth. The 2nd is Proto Xeno Eel thingy, which i think either acts like face hugger and implants something in throat or indeed actually enters the victics throat instelf. In one trailer there is a voice saying " its in my throat" 3rd does apear to be a C sections, the other angle shows that robot arm with Squidy Alien in it and a latter scene shows Shaw with her belly stappled back up. The Imax one shows her trying to be held down by other members of the crew and she lashes out at them trying to escape, so some of the crew know she has something inside of her, or maybe they planted it in her or allowed her to get impregnanted by a embrio.

The Arm Length is different, the production crew hint the SJ are 9-10ft but the production crew of Alien hinted the SJ in the chair was 15ft. The Pilot and Chair seem more fused in Alien and its hard to those guess size of him. Looking at the new Jockey in the Seat you can see what is the Chair and the Jockey and looking at this and doing some mesurements (not going to be exact) the SJ in Alien apears to be 12ft and in Prometheus about 9ft. But then the Chair looks a little larger in Alien about 16ft in length compared to estimated near 15ft in Prometheus.

Hello, as everyone here is apparently i am a tremendous fan of the alien franchise. aliens james cameron verison is my all time favorite movie ever. alien ridley scotts version is second i have never in my life been this excited about a movie and i have seen tons!!!!! i absolutely love the discussions and speculations and it is great to have a forum like this cause none of my inner circle feels the love for this franchise that i do. thanks guys!!!!

I would like it they just made the people in Prometheus look more 70es like and the tech along with it. They should have tried to copy the old tech and make it look slightly cooler - sort of like "Star Trek" with the old Enterprise.

Just to toss it out there about the size issue of SJ. In the original Alien, Dallas states that it (being SJ) has grown out of the chair due to fossilization. So I think this should nullify the argument of the original size of said SJ, since the original itself is an anomaly due to age and natural erosion.

I'm still not sure what the first pic is. I mean its clearly a space craft, but is the structure under it just a rock-face or is it man/alien-made? I do think the "CUT IT OFF!!!" scream is in reference to the second image. First time I heard that scream I immediately thought of that tentacle going into the guy's arm. Third Image: Definitely a c-Section. (I believe the original leaked footage trailer show Shaw's belly rapidly expanding while she's lying on the same medical table.)

Oh yeah... I have had mugs made by them as well... very nice results. That is what I was getting at.. I tried making some BLACK caps with them and the result was extremely poor.

Makes me want to pull one of the urns out to see if there's a tumbling domino effect. Think that would piss off the SJ's? LOL
