Still think Blue guy might be an android trying to become more human by using the magic green goo, but instead becomes somehting more evil by using it.
Replyenceladus_is_alivePrometheus ForumSize does matter??Apr 2, 2012
I keep writing this but the SJ spaceships connect into a larger ship. I don't think the two SJ Space ships in Alien and Pro are identical. Look at their end tips of the horse shoe. The SJ ships grow change slightly, their ships and detach to go create, capture, and merge life. They re-dock to a larger ship that orbits sectors of the univers (see star map) to exchange/merge dna/life.

No love for the "Corsair Star Cruiser" flown by John-Boy? Maybe I'm reading too much into it....but to me its in Giger territory for "suggestiveness"....

Alien3 has moments, but I can't imagine how the studio ever agreed to allowing the Newt character to be written out of the franchise--just a huge mistake. Bigger mistake: making your main character immune to the danger of your monster. (Maybe that sounded better on the page, but it absolutely sucked the life out of the Ripley story arc. Terrible decision.) Also, big mistake not utilizing a wider environment on Fiorina--getting the story outside, and especially in space.
I understand the type of film Fincher wanted to make, but these failures are partially on him.
An Alien film needs a SF director, or at minimum, a geek that gets it. Fincher and Jeaunet, for as brilliant as they both are as filmmakers, they were inspired choices, but probably not good choices for those films.

You can't go from a movie centered on one xeno, to hordes of them -including a gigantic queen- then back to just one. In terms of audience expectations, that was never going to work.
ReplyPRO IIPrometheus Forum30 years before?Apr 2, 2012
Personally I hope its not the same planet that's in Alien. It seems strange that they would wait 30 years before finding out the fate of Prometheus, especially if Mr Wayland is indeed aboard.
I also find it hard that the Nostromo picked up that signal on a shipping lane that others past by.
In the script they were 10 months off course.... the plot thickens Muuhaha

Let's not forget, the picture they see is of a humanoid with a rather long odd arm pointing to some dots on the wall. From what I can see, these mutated people grow rather long limbs so maybe it was a warning (aliens can be so vague sometimes).

The Terminator was Cameron's 1st movie. The production company made him cast Arnie, which.... lets face it ruined his idea of an 'infiltration unit' all they had to do was be on the lookout for an Olympia. (no dog required.)
I often wonder if Cameron wasn't sleeping with Gale Hurd would he have even been the director on that movie or even Aliens.

@Macs: No. She gets the c-section and then she slowly walks through the corridor stumbling towards the rest of the crew... (you can see the scar in her belly in that part). When she gets to them she falls to her knees and tells them what happened... that's when she utters the phrase "I was wrong, we were so wrong... I'm so sorry...".
BTW... The person getting that tentacle in his arm is Fifield. That thing changes him into a Xeno/human hybrid...

It does look like four fingers, or maybe three fingers and a thumb. But didn't the "Alien" xeno "hand" have six fingers......four fingers of equal length in the middle, and one smaller digit on each side?

@namtraz: I thought the same way. If the SJ have climate altering tech is logical to think that during the Prometheus/SJ conflict this tech may end up broken and the planet's atmosphere was messed up because of it...

Although I rarely do any pop media art (or fan art), I actually would love to do some Prometheus inspired art at some point. Maybe if I get some free time--although most likely "spacegirl" takes on Shaw or Vickers. Perhaps when we have more reference material--I dunno.
I DO hope that the film will inspire a lot of cool stories and art. Seems the Alien films were always good with that.
I remember Deadliest of the Species rather well. That was a great story, and would have made better film for the AvP universe. Too bad they didn't have the nuts to do that.
Anyone have Aliens: Lovesick by Richard Forgues (Forg)?
