Yea, think its the blue guy/engineer. You can see the side of the humanoid head near the leftmost part of the elongated helmet. But why does it need the elongated helmet? If the blue guy has a humanoid head the helmet we see in the profile view seems like its accommodating something else... Possibly the chair is not a gun but an impregnation device, strapping the being down while the helmet serves as a protective shell for a facehugger to crawl in and do its work. The original Alien movie had the trunk (tail of facehugger?) extend further down along the rib cage...

Or you could, I dunno, stop scouring the web for spoilers?

I actually used to have a xenomorph as a pet. Generally, they're pretty good pets. They're quite attentive, independant, highly intelligent and they need almost no upkeep. In fact, they virtually keep themselves! However, as with any pet, there are a few things that are worth keeping in mind before you run out and harvest your first. Yeah, that was a strange decision. I'd hope they have an explanation for the name of the ship, but no idea what that would be. Why would they force that in anyhow? I don't get it.

Another weird theory-suppose the Shaw squid escapes and grows and she tries to protect it.Then during the escape she uses the Derelict,and Prometheus rams her.

lol what else should they name it? "space jockey" or "not an alien prequel, but yet it is" ?

i think the chances of getting a xenomorph to do all of that are about the same as my columbian tegu behaving that way, lol.

Maybe the ship's called Prometheus because that's what the mission is about. ie. Weyland wants to steel from the Gods!

Sounds good craig, very close to my minds eye of the film...there's one thing that I would add and I wish I knew the poster who theorized it, but I cant remember but here it is, maybe someone will recognize it. Weyland is onboard, unknown to the crew until they awake, cared for during the trip by David because he did not enter hyper sleep. All his cocky and arrogant talk at the TED conference when he was younger now shows itself...hes here to to find what he believes is a way to become immortal...and invokes the wrath of the powers that be that you mention....its him alone and not the crew responsible for the payback, but everybody gets caught in the action. These are all simply ideas and not confirmed..... Perhaps the Xeno DNA simply evolves into a different replication method everytime it needs to. We dont know. We dont know (yet ) if the eggs in 1 were cargo. We dont know if the eggs in 1 were laid there or were carried there. We dont know if the eggs were in the Derelict or in a subteranium cavern. Good ponts Infidel. Cannot wait to find out though!!!

Sounds like you feel about Blade Runner as some people feel about all the Alien sequels...just a matter of individual taste and priorities

I don't believe the scene depicts the space jockey being strapped [i]into[/i] the chair. It definitely looks like he is in the process of coming [i]out[/i] of the chair--"un-suiting", if you will. There are four places on the suit, including the "ribcage", that are unwinding, or loosening, away from the body of the humanoid in the chair. The telescope/gun is also starting to move up and away from him. It's definitely the blue guy in the chair: the evidence in the picture above is definitive.

It would be a rational assumption that the big blue guys have little interest in 'Victorian fictions' such as morality. i think the large blue humanoid is the space jockey and not a humen turned in to a space jockey. i think thay come up with this humen lookink space jockey so thay could do the hole thay made us and there like the gods and all that and thats y we look like them......

Ripley 8 and Call, on Eath after the end of Alien 4 make it out of Paris and set up a colony in the Swiss Alps populated by other artificial humanoids. After around 75 years (Ripley's mutated Alien Human DNA has given her long life) the colony discovers a way to send 1 humanoid back in time. They choose the exact time that Prometheus is about to leave Earth on its Maiden Voyage.....

No it couldn't be ..it must be that the seeding of the human race was meant for later use by the Xenoforms ,mto be harnessed at alter time in the future to be crossbred, but the Xenophorms discovered by the SJ must have threatened that from happening , as it was a life form created by the SJ for some thre purpose that evolved into something unforeseen on that planet , something unforeseen and frightening, perhaps on the planet inhabited by the Xenophorms some meteor or other disaster altered the species that became dominantnp on that planet and when the SJ came back to the planet to check on the seeding it discovered something completely different than what it intended when it seeded various different planets ... So the Xenophorms that unfortunately by some freak ecological or galactic disaster ( meteor, radiation, causing its evolytion asndominant species) became the dominant species not only need a host but also want to establish their dominance on all planets and wipe out the seeding of humanoid life forms establshed by the Space Jockey ~~~ Space Jockey probably looking to wipe out their "mistake" -- the Xenoforms but was attacked and destroyed , hence the distress warning message from the first Alien film to stay away....it's a story of evolution "what if" competing with a more powerful intelligent life form

I have a hunch the SJ would simply take some of the locals from the planet, infect them with the DNA and then return them to the planet... The rest would be history.

I read some of them back in the day but none of them count as cannon anyway. The cool thing about the Alien comic book universe is that it has no regard for Alien 3 (Newt, Hicks, and Ripley keep fighting the aliens).

We've refered to him as the Blue Bald guy since December when the teaser trailer was released...If you prefer grey, that's fine.....I think most of us still use blue guy, because most everyone here then knows who we're talking about....

Oh wow, beautiful pictures and most definitely can see the resemblance to the Xenos in the skin structure of this being. Very interesting. One thing though, he looks grey to me, not blue.

Hello, first post here. From the first time I saw that chair in Alien, I thought it was a navigator with some kind of telescope. I didn't think it would be evil though.
