You guys miss so much with what's been said already ... damn the no Search feature ... or even the latest post going to the top of the list would be a good one ... @Necronomicon IV: that is an intriguing theory you've deduced the tip of the turret does have a grid of holes there, and they do look like they could shoot out those urns / ampules. although i'm not sure about them containing something to kill a planet, perhaps the Engineers can both seed and kill with whatever those ampules carry, if your theory is correct can't wait to find out if all this speculating some of us have done on these boards proves absurdly false - - - or if some of us were right on target (pun intended) can't wait for June...!

From the trailer when Shaw says...Prometheus are you seeing this?. I think that is the discovery of the giant head. That there is a human head sculpture is the overwhelming part. The ceiling part dialogue Shaw:"Its changing" Vickers: "Changing into what"?

Maybe this is LV-426, hear me out what if weyland/or Yutani sent a man to this system (Patrick Wilson) and he found "something" but they lost contact with the astronaut. Now when prometheus reaches there and the movie begins Spoiler* the crew steals or takes something important to the space jockeys, which leads the jockeys to unleash the giant storm (Artificial atmosphere), which then leads to the derelicts liftoff and the prometheus ships destruction stopping the derelict. Now when that happens the atmospheric machine thingy breaks down and causes the planet to be ravaged by the fake atmosphere...also how an alien impregnates the space jockey.....this was all in my head, no facts

Soooo, they have the tech to build the ship in the first place, but he needs to manully aim the big effin gun? And he shoots the gun from outside the ship? But then again, you just maybe right on the money!

I'm reserving my judgement for after I see it....there's no way to qualify this idea's quality or the film's for that matter until I see it.

or he gets in chair - merges with ship becoming one organism - that initiates the power of the ship to travel through space. the gun allows immediate travel - like the travel of thought. once seated he is then esconced in a living, breathing styrofoam-like matter, to protect and feed him... as are all the urns downstairs for that matter....makes 'em look like eggs

Good call, craigamore. Now you've got me wondering why such a scientifically-savvy franchise would incorporate a fully humanoid non-human.

Ah the SR1 Normandy @ Flexer. I'm more partial to the SR2 Normandy II. If they ever get around to do a Mass Effect movie one can only hope it looks as good as Prometheus or has a great director like Sir Scott.

Don't mind me while I double up this post... As a weapon of revenge, the xenomorph is too virulent. Look at the close calls the various crews have had throughout the franchise - and that's with some of them actively trying to return it to Earth. Clearly, a human crew can't be relied upon to carry the xenomorph back to their home planet. The Space Jockey waits to be found, either to obtain specimens, or to learn Earth's location, or both... but it must ultimately make the delivery itself.

OutlanderPrometheus ForumYoung Shaw (Lucy Hutchinson)?
Well, I'm personally hoping that since we haven't seen a real close full on frontal view of the blue alien, that there will be something decidely unhuamn in their visage. I don't think they will try to communicate with her other than to try to cow her into submission. I really think the break from her naive view of how the universe is will be her own journey. Then again, my GF tells me I'm a cynical old guy. LOL. Further illustration of this is the gruff veteran Filfield's comments that, "We're out here because you two KIDs found a map." Clearly an impression of how young and gullible Shaw and to an extent, Holloway are.

ZalgradisAlien Movies ForumNightmares- How has ALIEN impacted you?
Hmm, good question. Since i was little they've fascinated me. I dont have nightmares about them, i dream about them, the design speaks to me. I love them. Whatever Giger was drawing upon, he hit a level of purity in these Aliens that i crave. They're excessively violent, single minded and devoid of any human mental frailties that would derail their endeavours (The moronic scene in the abominable Alien Resurrection where they seem to speak to each other to come up with an escape plan makes my blood boil) They make me feel closer to a ruthless ambition by watching them, i suppose thats the best way to describe it.

certainly is interesting... BTW, silica...I think Solaris is a wonderfully underappreciated SciFi movie. I rather enjoy that one, and it just reels me in...the starkness, desperation, and hopelessness just reminds me so much of A.1... in good ways. Cillian is a wonderful actor...

silicaPrometheus ForumYoung Shaw (Lucy Hutchinson)?
is there an element of solaris in this? if young shaw's father was patrick wilson - who also may happen to be the big blue face... are the Aliens trying to get into her head by playing 'familiar'... or does an alien bear a resemblance to him to take advantage of her memories? to communicate? if he died when she was a kid, then indeed, why won't he die/stay dead?

Wow! Nobody's mentioned the X-wings from Star Wars?!! Personal favorite BTW. I mean if you could have a ship or in this case a Starfighter is perfect, it's small enough to fit in most places ( garage or hangar) can travel faster than light and it has weapons!! Now where do a get dang R2 unit?

OutlanderPrometheus ForumYoung Shaw (Lucy Hutchinson)?
I think they will show her at a young age losing her father or some other traumatic incident, and the result of this will be her deep seated religious beliefs. Her faith being challenged will be a central theme in Prometheus, evidenced by the fact she thinks the pictographs represent an invitation to visit the creators, and then by the end she's screaming "DIE" in desperation, horror, and anger at one of those beings.

I've posted this before but the SJ spaceship that we've seen fits into a much larger ship. These ships meet, connect, and exchange life forms from various corners of the universe.
