For me it will be The Hobbit. And then no clue. I would be certainly anticipating a sequel for Prometheus, or any movie set in the Alien universe (not AVP). Or possibly something set in the WH40K universe (though I am pretty sure it would be god-awful). I cannot think of any other movie that could make me so excited as Prometheus, though (not even Alien 3 or Alien Resurrection, back then. I was too young for Alien and Aliens).

I'm somewhat disappointed too. The loneliness of the SJ struck me also. I love the idea of a fossilized being. I always thought part of the beauty of the Giger designs depends on the incomprehensibility of biological meets mineral meets technological.

Hey, at least it's not as bad as the discrepancies in the Star Wars saga.

@ Prom_Queen Its not a downer. You're just expressing you're opinion. Its not a problem! I was curious to get your opinion on the topic. @Whiskuz Yes, that image is likely before the operation. Something about that scene is just weird (yeah it doesn't get much weirder than a squid thing being extracted from her belly), but I'm talking about the whole sequence... Shouldn't Shaw be incapacitated or at least tied down for such an intense procedure? Could it be that there's no one around so she has to tell/program the on-board computer to perform the operation on her without the aid of a human operator (hence no one to tie her down or provide the anesthesia)?

I got the feeling, referring to the trailers, the first half of the film will be told very interesting, mystic, spiritual but then turning into a nightmare, Ridley Scott-style. nice. I dont need any original Xenos under all circumstances ;)..I´d rather like it to be more mysterious, shimmering and.. evil. ;) cheers

i think that's what connects to too. makes sense. one of things i've always enjoyed about the alien films are the ships and equipment. hopefully we'll see some cool stuff.

Thanks, I'll try looking for the older version. What hurts my head is it used to play the gifs just fine then last week it stopped, maybe it was a windows update that spoilt things. Im not too sure about windows 7 myself either

Something else I just noticed, in trailer number 2 (the one with the more industrial sounding music), has a short clip, right after you see the hologram of the SJ running, in which you see the inside of the pod from what looks like Shaw's perspective and you can see the empty pincer moving down towards her abdomen. I'm guessing this would be before the operation because everything is clean. Just thought it was interesting.

She is a South Korean model named Jihye Yuk, whos "Pew-Pew Girl" video went viral on the net a couple of years ago completely by accident. She if often a model at Asian Trade Shows of all kinds and I think it was taken by a show/convention visitor who uploaded it. She has since been in Maxim as well. A lot of her pics seem to show her posing with a pack of black/gold cigarettes so Im guessing one of her main jobs is that she is the "face" of a Korean brand of cigarettes?? They obviously probably dont have restrictions on Tobacco ads like we have here now?

What youve heard is right. You need to open the picture in either an internet browser or an independent viewer. As far as I know, windows 7 has no way of viewing GIFs like older versions. Completely sucks. Windows 7 has REALLY disappointed me actually. You cant manually arrange your folders any more, and the new Microsoft Paint sucks big time...luckily I was able to install the old version of Microsoft Paint though. Come to think of it, it might be possible to download the old pic viewer?

I totally agree with you, whiskuz. I wish so many films wouldn't rely on female rape for shock value and to get male asses in seats, because that just seems wrong. But that's the way it is oftentimes. Sex sells, even the violent kind (maybe even more so). I get what you're saying, though. The more disturbing the rape (or whatever violent event), the more we are invested in the character's/victim's plight to succeed or overcome the enemy in the movie. Also, I know Ridley and Giger and the rest of them would love to push the boundaries as far as possible (that's why I like them). I am all for pushing boundaries. And this is not really about Alien or Ridley, but some other directors/writers seem to feel that boundary-pushing only involves violating a woman. I don't want Prometheus to go that route, and I really don't think it will.

It might be a long shot, but try uninstalling Windows PIC viewer and reinstalling it. Also look on Windows for an updated drivers....

Blade Runner kick ass, nothing less, IMHO.
