In my opinion and anything which I believe (as I really don't think its important here) anyone that can't (or won't try) to understand someone else's point (or belief) and thus feels any need to insult it or belittle it, just devalues their own opinion. Whether you take any explanation from science or religion it is all a matter of faith (for example you have faith your car's wheels go around when your moving in it) or there is some afterlife and all have the right to believe whatever they wish whether the reason is a negative or some glorious realization!

i have a pellet gun that looks like that, doesnt look like it could kill anything much tougher then a big squirrel :/ maybe it could shoot your eye out, or break a little blond boys eye glass lens.....

3D is nothing yet...it is truly a gimmick, and a way to sell new equipment... Sorry, but I don't mind seeing a 2 minute trailer in it, but no way in heck I can sit through a movie where you're only getting "half" of it due to the way it works, and your brain is constantly being fried by conflicting messages---I always have a headache after about 5 minutes. No thanks.

@tachito Good grab on this interview....it adds to my understanding of how Ridley reconciles with the fact that he has to say something, yet skillfully avoid details.....it must be really hard for him to deal with leaks and backstabbers knowing he has a wonderous story that he probably bursting inside to share. It's basically what he's been saying all along except I see a few new clues as to his thought process....talking about an ant...just read that and consider it from all angles. We're the ant...not realizing just what this movie is.

Yes, and all the patent notations for new small arms and other weapons tech in the "official" Weyland timeline I think are meant to convery that they had and were developing weapons with much more accuracy, longer ranges, and hitting power. But honestly though.. That would basically probably be like a "pop" gun in a fight with a Blue Meanie... or.. something even BIGGER??

I know this has "prolly" been mentioned before but one thing that makes no sense to me is that everything {all the tech/uni's/enviros} in Prometheus look ten times more modern than everything did in Alien. It is the ONLY true and valid critisism of the film I can make so far. & Everything else I have to say about this whole thing is entirely positive.

I think like with a lot of sci fi films, they're just trying to pass it off as some futuristic space pistol or a 'pulse pistol' ;-)

That gun is a very accurate pistol, though I like the older ones with the more "classic" look. However it is a .22 pistol so not "High powered", but still would not want to be hit by it.

Excellent, excellent. Thanks for breaking that down, Malak'kak. Not entirely what I've been thinking, but I've been thinking without all of the mythology. No idea how this could work out in a few films, but it's exciting to me that it could be a remote possibility. Perhaps it is distilled a bit, simplified. Regardless, this recursive nature of the Prometheus story on a large, evolutionary scale, is what I've been suspecting, but I've refrained from digging too deep. I DO think that the David8 tech story has a lot to do with how this plays out within the film, but the clues are too subtle to speculate on at this point.

If this situation is goes where I think it could, a TRUE world war will ensue. And by world war I mean war on EVERY land mass on the planet. Not just Europe or something.

The sad thing is that people get all involved in the Xenu myth of Scientology, when the concern should be stuff like Rehabilitation Project Force or so on.

Shane, you must remember that most folks outside of film majors never saw Solaris, or Stalker. I did forget 2001, but then again, that is the film that I don't care for as much as I should. For me, 2001 is a long boring bit, cool bits out in Jupiter and HAL, then a Acid trip.

When you compare some of these ancient cultures you realize they're talking about the same groups of beings in completely different locations, with names that aren't always linked etymologically, meaning less chance of cultural transmission. The same traits end up being applied to these groups in their myths and written testaments. And we definitely see the coming down from the stars/flying "object" aspect many times; Followed by an earlier awareness of astronomy in those same cultures. The Sumerians knew about Pluto even though we don't consider it a planet now, and it wouldn't be seen with a telescope for thousands of years, even being a semi-recent discovery in the 20th century. What intrigues me is India and Egypt (as well as Greece/rome via transmission) also make references to lost island empires of advanced hominids that had colonies here and their own versions of flood stories. Stories depicting what we think of today as the grey alien show up cross-culturally as well. Most recognizably as the ant-people or the Anasazi in native American folklore that helped the ancients escape the flood by burrowing into the Earth and the Grand canyon and teaching them to carve their ancient stone cities. These guys were sometimes at war with the tall bearded men some of the ancient meso-Americans saw as gods, and taught them to fear/worship them as gods. Even in the ancient hebrew bible (before translated) there are so many clues, some that survive and become part of the old testament, other translations, and make it into the new testament even. Originally there was not just one god, and the main god was female. Jehova sounds like he walks around in a giant robotic suit... and some of the choirs of angels meant something completely different.

I guess we will find out soon enough. There does seem to be a simularity to the Eel/Worm that gets into the Space Suit and also the tiny version of it seen in Holoways eye. We dont know the order of the scenes and so from that Holloway image where he seems to be swelling up in his face and head like Fifleid Mutatation, maybe his swelling goes down and he then has the kissing scene with Shaw or maybe thats before the infection? If its before the infection scene and indeed Holloway changes simular to Fifield then how can that acount for Shaw getting pregnant? Unless the Organism gets her Pregnant. So is this Organism changing the crew into 1) Proto Alien 2) Space Jockey/Blue Guy (makes little sence) 3) Some other kind of mutation.
