I have a lot of questions, so I'll just put down a few. I like the Android questions, and digging for an answer to see if there is more than one on the Prometheus ship. Is there more than one derelict ship in this movie? Why does the Space Jockey look so much like humans? Why are there two different sized Space Jockeys? (The one on the derelict when it is working with the green orb appears larger than the one on Prometheus fighting Shaw.) Is there an element of time distortion in this movie? (Overlapping timelines) Is Peter Weyland looking for a way to cheat death? Why would several human civilizations be pointing to this planet where there seems to be limited life and not a true civilization? What happened to them? The Space Jockey's appear to be far more advanced then humans and certainly more than the xenomorphs. Besides the stone writing on walls and the map room, how do the Space Jockey's communicate with each other and with humans? Or does this not have very much significance to the movie? Sorry for rambling on with a list of questions. Hopefully one of these are useful. I'm really jealous! Have an awesome time.

I saw that, never made the connection...also not related but funny...I got this thing on ebay...had to win a bid for it....it is the criterion collection copy of ROBOCOP and features the "X" rated copy of the film that Verhooven original submited to the studios and which they subsequently made 58 seperate requests for further cuts to before they allowed it to be released in North America. It is INCREDIBLE...and Both Weller and Allen are a Joy to watch in their pure unedited spelndor, along with CLARENCE BODDIKER lmfao, the dad from That 70's show..."nanananananana" as he shoots the limbs off Wellers body !!! A true Cinematic BloodFest Hardly anyone ever really saw the way Verhooven intended!!! I am still stuned everytime I watch it !!! I cannot tell you how GORY this thing is, you have to see it to believe it !!! Changed everything I thought originally about that film.

i love the war theory, only thing i wonder is it is a war then the alien/xeno must have some type of intellect, be able to travel through space pilot ships and the like.....

Sparty that sounds like "Leviathan - 1989 - Starring Peter Weller" IMO the Xeno is going to be some sort of nasty massive snake or eel; possibly aquatic, but I hope it doesn't absorb everything like "The Thing" or "Leviathan" just something viscious and nasty :)

theory....the space jockeys are some what like the watcher....if you read comics....watching over the universe. advanced peaceful beings, who eons ago discovered the parasitic dna of the aliens and witness first had the aggressive nature and sent centuries to this particular outpost to guard them. the markings arent invitation but a warning. many have said that they dont believe this is same planet from the original alien, but i think it can be. from the trailer some type of weather event happens sand storm or intended obliteration of planet who knows

@ Sparky - too obvious and too AVP. The vials puzzle me, what is their purpose, why are we guided to them if not to study them, what do they contain that is so important for the ancient invitations? Why are the SJ's protecting them, especially if we have been guided to them? @ Fanboy79 - I think the Vickers thing is a ruse. In a good whodunnit the first two suspects you can eliminate are the most obvious and the least obvious. Having Vickers stand around in corners and behave "off" is a distraction, to avert attention away from the real suspect.

They must fight a terrifying battle in space to determine the fate of mankind because Prometheus does what it's namesake did... commits that one act...that one original sin. They steal the VIals under the wrong pretense and that's what... "I was sooo wrong" means !!! The VIals never should have been touched if not for that misinterpretation.

@ fanboy79 - Regards the worm thing I suspect that Holloway looks at that saucer and reaches over to it, the "Eel" attacks him through a rip in his suit (maybe actually ripping his suit) at the arm and infects him in some way, leading to the a scene later where he notices something in his eye... But how does it infect him and why? And how does Fifeld get infected, is it in a similar way or different, if so why?

wow if it is two races, two completely different races YOU JUST DID IT FOR ME YOU COMPLETED THIS PUZZLE what if...these two races...war each other over whatever reason...and this is the GREAT AND TERRIFYING BATTLE from the synopsis...the missing piece...is this BATTLE over the FATE of EARTH !!!

i definitely think vickers is a android esp the way in one of the trailers she is slamming david into a wall and since we know she is a rep for the company, she is the only one from the trailer we see make to what i suppose is an escape pod...and her behavior throughout the trailers are standoffish and ridley did say he advised her to use the shadows and corners for her scenes def something there excited!!!!

@ Sparky - LOL One thing that is puzzling me is this... I think it's fairly safe to assume that the UFO at the waterfall is not technology of the same race that built the Derelict, therefore two separate races, but... ...Why would a race seemingly responsible for helping mankind point them to a system, what is the purpose of the invitation? To kill us off, I doubt it! Why are the SJ's there? Why do they become hostile? Are they the guard dogs, do we p*ss them off? Why are so many of them dead, who/what killed them?

amazing, just amazing, this whole "thingy"/film/experience/ is sooo amazing...and as we get closer the best part looms, the day after, when we re explore who had it right and who didn't, that's goinna be so funny and so much fun.

looking at the trailer again at whatever point that shaw gives birth or is injected with foreign organism, she makes it to a room where scientist or other crew members look up as she enters then collaspe to her knees, just wondering at what point of aciton this takes place. I must say i am concerned with the pacing since from what we are told someone bits it at 28 min of the film.

kool!!!! i have to say though looking at the trailers and i know many of us had come to this conclusion but watching it again i dont think shaw is giving birth to an unknown organism. it looks like someone is trying to inject the organism in shaw. also we have no clue as to whose suit it was that the eel/worm organism got into. we do here cut it off in the background, but we also here it was in my throat....and we have someone who looks to be burning from the inside out. the attacker is obviously human/or was at one point.

@allinamberclad I believe this is Holloway because of the reason aintnozeno pointed out. His head guard under the helmet says Holloway. Right click the image to view in another tab or window to see it full size. If you zoom in a bit, it's clear that the name is Holloway.

OMG have fun! I would ask him, what exactly are the androids in Alien (and the series) made of and what technology made them so lifelike. A pretty basic question, that never has been answered in 30 years.

Why do people keep saying "baby squid"? What we saw was a snake like creature much like the original chestburster... It only had one tail and NO tentacles. The reflection in the glass made it look like multiple tails.

There is another problem with the theory. Zeta Reticuli is very close from Earth in cosmological sense. If we today already have the technology to find terrestrial-like planets, I think the blue guys certainly would be capable of finding earth-like planets and even would be able to listen human broadcasts from Earth. So why in the Hell they would need to sit there and wait for us?

We can't prove either, you'll just have to find out after you die what the facts are as we all will. However if there's an afterlife I get to tell you I told you so! LOL

I think the Space Jockey is a biomechanical interface suit that connects the Engineer to the ship. What if the scene we are shown is reversed footage? The "telescope" comes out of the floor, the big Engineer guy sits in it, and then the suit then forms around him - interfacing him with the ship.

'A king has is Kingdom, and then he dies' - the king =Peter Weyland /the kingdom = Weyland Corp. The SJs could just be a race of Genetic Engineers. They travel the galaxy collecting DNA samples from several alien races they come in contact with and catalloging them. When the Prometheus crew goes inside the 'temple' they find many chambers, each containing several ampules on the floor. Each chamber has a representation of the alien race it belongs to (a human face carved in stone represents the human race and so on) and the ampules probably work as cryogenic storage units used to preserve the DNA samples retrieved from each race. Each chamber appears hermetically sealed at first, maybe the humans should only be allowed inside their own chamber but the 'temple' seems abandoned and the Engineers race long gone (extinct?) maybe something malfunctions and they're granted access to the other chambers and decide to take samples with them. Then the myth of Prometheus kicks in - Peter Weyland, who we can assume takes part in the expedition - becomes infected by one of the samples (voluntarily?) and begins to mutate/evolve into the veiny guy we see in the trailer (becomes a Titan); as the Titan of Myth he tries to steal the alien technology and the dna samples (Fire) to give them to humanity (in this case to Weyland corp) by taking the alien ship to earth by himself . By then he would most probably have turned against the rest of the Prometheus crew and decided to leave them behind. The crew, trying to prevent what they think could cause an extintion event, sacrifice themselves and the prometheus ship to try and stop Weyland as he takes off in the alien ship by crashing into it. In my opinion this could be the main plot of the film with a little "Alien Dna" thrown into the mix as stated by Riddley Scott. Riddley mentioned something about crossbreeding - IMO a member of the crew who also happens to be Shaw's love interest gets infected by alien dna and in turn infects Shaw through sexual intercourse. As a result Shaw gives birth to a alien/human hybrid, a mix of human dna and what we can call "xenomorphic" dna in its pure form. This hybris looks very much like a 'face hugger' - maybe the first one. Wouldn't it be a clever twist if the 'Xenomorphs' happen to be a entirely new species spawned from the mix of Human/alien dna? A genetic accident gone wrong (the Titan's punishment by the Gods).
