Wow it's amazin wht ppl believe. Really amazin. I am Christian Yes I believe in Jesus as my saviour. I know that when ever I pray specially when times are tough things always seem to work out. There is a higher power it just can'r be fate or good luck really. So to each his own. I do believe something happened that made us humans different from the rest of this worlds creatures. I also believe that its not entirely impossible that ther can't be other extra terrestial life out there. Really with more than billions of planets out there? Who ever created us created other creu$atures too. Someone is watching. I know it.

The goo is the same stuff the Xenomorph secretes to build eggs, walls, cocoons. We see in Aliens how it begins like a gel and eventually hardens to something resembling fiber class. How do you think they were able to convert the atmosphere station into a hive? I believe Shaw is using the med station on herself. Why create such a device for a film and not have it relate to the plot in some significant way? I believe she detects this thing in her body somehow, whether through feeling or seeing it under the skin, and uses the med statiion to remove it.

The 'Alien' xenomorph's life cycle is slightly different and, unfortunately to my mind, illogical. The 'mother' lays a lage egg which we know to be fertile. This egg hatches when it is ready and detects a nearby host (the derelict in Alien had been crashed in place for centuries/millenia as the SJ was fossilised with the eggs laid and waiting). The egg produces a relatively large and mobile face hugger to lay another (smaller?) egg in the host. Without the interference of Carter Burke the host is then cocooned to allow the chest buster to gestate. The chest buster is arguably smaller and less mobile than the face hugger - so what is the advantage in this part of the life cycle except in the potential for smuggling infected hosts to somewhere Wayland Yutani can attempt to use them in their weapons division? The Alien gets smaller, has to wait centuries to move on in its life cycle, and is dependant on a host happening along. Once the chest buster exits the host (bloodily) it almost instantly metamorphoses miraculously into a full blown alien soldier. Can't think of a good reason except for dramatic effect and to drive the plot. Gotta love it though!!!

Or it was neither invitation or warning, but the doing of the artists who created the pieces. The dot formation is buried in the human subconscious, crossing cultural lines. The artists themselves didn't even know what it meant, but they were compelled to put them down anyway.

the goo between davids fingers has to be some parasidic dna cause it is the same substance that is in some type of dish on top of one of the urns as one of the crew members looks it over and there is a scene where david has his face over the same goo but it looks as if it is dancing check out the trailer.....i think this substance in its original form can bond with anything synethic or organic maybe that is why the space jockey is a biomechanical being like the goo fused with david ....maybe that is him in the begining scene where the voice says "every king has his reign, then he dies..."

If we work on the principal that the invitation was in fact a warning, then we can assume that the warning was "let sleeping dogs lie" - in other words don't go there, else face the wrath of what sleeps there... the Space Jockey's. But why are they asleep, why point us there, why all the dead SJ's. But, if it was in fact an invitation, which also makes sense, why are the SJ's there? To guard, to protect. Guard, protect what and why?

Consider this: SJs (Engineers) - a higly evolved race of alien beings (scientists/geneticists) who collect DNA samples of alien species from throughout the galaxy and store them in chambers located in this planetoid. One chamber for each species. Each chamber has a representation of the species it belongs to, hence the Human-like face carved in stone. When prometheus crew arrives the facilities have long been abandoned by SJs due to biohazard danger (outbreak?), explains mummified remains seen in trailer (engineers that died from infection from one of the dna samples?) Prometheus crew unaware of the fact, become infected as well with different results. One mutates into veiny guy (guess is P. weyland). He has his own agenda, tries to take alien ship to earth (the Titan stealing fire from the Gods to give it to humanity). The rest of the crew try to stop him, crash Prometheus against alien ship as it takes off. Shaw gets infected by her partner (crossbreeding), gives birth to human/alien hybrid (first face hugger?) Face hugger impregnates another member of crew, first Xeno queen is born, lays its eggs inside the crashed alien ship.

Looks like the war has already been fought, with the SJ suit looking guys losing. Now that leaves the blue guys, who I believe are either benevolent or practical; the squid/worm-like organisms; infected, mutated crew; the rumored "super" alien. the blue guy is either helping David with some goal or acting on his own outside of the crew's conflict with the organisms and infected; or acting to stop us from spreading to other parts of the universe that we have discovered from the star map.. The organisms are either something the crew lets loose from the urns, or are already lurking around (in the trailer we see some alien goo being stretched between two fingers, so these things may be skittering around leaving goo trails behind, like the original Alien). The infected are infected by something in the urns. The jury is still out on the super alien.

looking over the trailer again i am convince that shaw is not giving birth if you freeze frame that thing it is entirely too big to come out here stomach and her not show signs of a basketball in her belly and whoever is holding it is at her head as the chamber she is encased in opens....thoughts

Ok...so we feel some kinda WAR figures into this somehow and that "Prometheus" gets into the middle of it....fair enough...and/so... what comes next..?...

@fanboy79; Are you saying that emotion is the "flaw" in their design? If so, that would be interesting. Ash seemed nervous and impatient. While Bishop's "improved" model seemed so calm and reserved. *( Ash was made by Hyperdyne Systems) Fassbender says David8 develops some emotion; jealousy, ego. That his programming allowed for emotional growth. Much like a child. He also said he based David8's character on the Blade Runner replicants. From what I saw the replicants were emotional wrecks. As for the Alien style androids, Ash runs in place nervously in one scene in Alien, Vickers is doing pushups, maybe they have to release emotion physically?? In Alien4 Annalee Call (built by fellow androids) and her advanced android brothers and sisters are hunted and destroyed because humans did not like how emotional/human they had become. Her model effectively destroyed the android industry instead of reviving it like it was supposed to.

@spartacus okay so the space jockeys are space travellers who have designed the alien to wipe out planets so they can inhabit them.....that could be true sort of disappointing being that most alien movies are about sliens wanting our planet :(, but the whole vials being program thing is definitely interesting, this means that the alien that comes from a jockey will be distinctively different than one from a human, dog, horse, etc.....the only question is if the xeno were desinged at what point of their evolution where they able to procreate on their own....is there a queen somewhere down there??/

@ Sparky - I ignore all fake leaked scripts. You should know that by now. @ Fanboy79 - I believe that the "company" element will be born in Prometheus. I suspect they become small players in a big story, of big proportions, and the Xenomorph is but one @ Kane77 - I don't doubt it, but we have enough of the beats, the elements, of the story to piece 95% of it together. The only thing that's missing is the WHY, and we just need to figure that bit out.

I think there is/was a war between the blue guys and the SJs you see dead in the trailers. Or between the SJs and some unseen race. The blue guys, if they are all built the same as the one in the trailer, are too bulky too be the more slender looking SJs. Or, as has been speculated in the past, there is some really dangerous new alien that is able to cleanly decapitate a SJ. All of this has been discussed at length in the past week. I also believe that the alien resin will play a part in this film, and it's possible that's what is in some of the urns. It's ability to build structures and create organic life would be of interest to Weyland

@Gem]n[ Interesting to find out that there would have been 3 world powers in the draft, wonder if they wanted Tyrell to be one of them *lol* I was referencing the timeline about the patient over Yutani and we know they become merged in future "lore" If you look at the logo's on the suits you see what [b]appears[/b] to be both the [u]early[/u] Yutani logo as [b]Y[/b] in "sun emblem" and the Weyland logo. It does seem as if this is a joint venture in some way does it not? I just wonder...if our fembot theories are indeed true and the fembot is really a Yutani spy/rogue. but...the mind does wander with this idle time. :)

I would have one. In Science fiction genre, it seems there is a huge majority of movies which depict extraterrestrial life as a threat for mankind. Prometheus seems to enter this category as well. Could you express your true feeling about ETs, UFO and what is your true belief regarding "other lives" ?

there not really xenomorphs I believe until the Vials are programmed first somehow for that species...it's a selective space jockey/engineer thing I believe that they do at the moment of decision to unleash the selected method of terra-forming which first Kills every living organism on said world before making it habitable again somehow...just another theory expanded upon from that leaked plot.

@snorkelbottom whats strange to me is if the space jockey is the creature they show in the trailers everyone of them is a bald humaniod, but the chair and the head that shaw and the scienctist are examining in one of the trailers is like some sort of helmet...so how are we assuming that all the dead bodies in the corridor are space jockey bodies.....is there a still where this is evident???

I have a lot of questions, so I'll just put down a few. I like the Android questions, and digging for an answer to see if there is more than one on the Prometheus ship. Is there more than one derelict ship in this movie? Why does the Space Jockey look so much like humans? Why are there two different sized Space Jockeys? (The one on the derelict when it is working with the green orb appears larger than the one on Prometheus fighting Shaw.) Is there an element of time distortion in this movie? (Overlapping timelines) Is Peter Weyland looking for a way to cheat death? Why would several human civilizations be pointing to this planet where there seems to be limited life and not a true civilization? What happened to them? The Space Jockey's appear to be far more advanced then humans and certainly more than the xenomorphs. Besides the stone writing on walls and the map room, how do the Space Jockey's communicate with each other and with humans? Or does this not have very much significance to the movie? Sorry for rambling on with a list of questions. Hopefully one of these are useful. I'm really jealous! Have an awesome time.

@ fanboy - I have that same feeling regarding the "we were so wrong" statement. The recent trailers have pushed the point of an invitation, so it's a possibility. But the SJ's don't seem to be at all peaceful in Prometheus, but the idea of guarding the Xenomorphs to prevent them being unleashed is an interesting idea, if it were not for the Derelict taking of (presumably towards earth) with the Xenomorphs as cargo. And again, why are there loads of dead SJ's in the temple. And then theres the signal in Alien. The SJ's what is their purpose in all of this, why are so many of them dead and why attempt to attack Earth?
