nice silica! im hoping whatever the tentacle thing is, is going to be something original looking. when they take the squid baby out it looks human colored to me, the tentacle looks a bit blue-grey like the blue guys skin.

It probably is terra forming a planet in say seven days??? Sure looks like the planet is forming as Pro flies through the atmosphere. If you look close they even threw in some lightning in the clouds.

The unseen, just a guess... is meant to scare the diehard fans. I'll speak for us all, I want to be frightened! I WANT to be afraid to see it again! Wouldn't that be awesome!? I assume we are all adults here, and know what to expect. Giger's awesome alien design! Wouldn't it just be grand to be scared again from a film?! I can't remember the last one that did it! Can you? Oh, wait... I lost sleep when I saw the Human Centipede. Never again will I see that garbage. That's just trash. I want smart, thought provoking science fiction! The unseen is something to hope for, to desire.

Hello I'm Synthrimonger94!! Been a huge Alien fan all my life! My favorite is the original Alien and Alien3 the assembly cut which I thought was actually very good and ended the Alien series in a satisfactory way! The original Alien is the best though! Hope Giger has an awesome design for the Proto-Xeno!!

I find so interesting how far into detail we can all go with our speculations......and we're probably all wrong...myslef included.... Anyhoo.... I've also been considering the idea that we're looking a specific individual that defied his contemporaries in his benevolence to humans and that's the guy we see at the falls. His race on the whole makes him somewhat of an anamoly...the crew finds that out in due course..... As to the pictograms, man was shown by this fellow where he came from and either they depicted that star map in reverence to him or they witnessed his punishment and they depict it as a warning Shaw and Halloway obviously miss.... Just a few thoughts

Well doesnt prometheus only take place 30 years before alien?? Technology does not change too much in time. BUT... I am not saying that higher tech can't exist at the same time... cause it can! Lets take a few things into consideration. Like stated above look at the cars we have on the street. There are still older cars driving around at the same time as our newst and coolest cars. Look at cellphones, there are still some pretty old digital cells out there at the same time as smart phones. Or like Pol said, there are still some DOS systems out there. Whos to say that the Nostromo was new and top of the line. Not Ridley! Who is to say that the Nostromo wasn't the old tech, just refited to a point and still in service. We see it today in our own air force, navy, etc. They don't just get rid of old service machines. they refit them and use them until they become way too old and completely useless. So that is how I see the technology gap. Why give miners and tow truck divers the newest and the best machines. That is just not how it is gonna happen. The Notromo was old, really old and refitted to serve a purpose.

Maybe it was Mr. Burns and his sunblocker machine......... :-P

i have some amphibians and reptiles that eat their own shed skin after they peel it off, maybe she ate the egg sack when it wasn't of use anymore? could have eaten it for nutrients and energy since she was preggo in a mammalian way.

We have F-16's and bombers, helicopters,etc,there could be multipe alien craft ( such as the hovering disk ) or one craft could be hundreds or thousands of years older, or suited for a different function. They are supposedly bio mechanical so they can easily transform in accordance to needed functions possibly. I think you have various ships and possibly various times that we are beholding the engineers. What if the engineer that we see outside on the surface of the planet looking at his hand is simply old and he or his race is dying. He could be creating or terraforming earth, seeding earth with the beginings of man, and then enters his ship, leaves and either hibernates until his creations fullfil their potential to make contact with their race to be host to his races DNA (immortality in a sense) and he comes back to earth to repopulate his species. And as far as the Derilect ship discovered by the Nostromono in Alien, that could be a engineer that escaped off the promethius planet heading to earth to invade, or just trying to get back home or quarantine himself because he knew he was doomed and just headed for the most desolate location he could find before what nappears to be a chest buster got him and he crashed. Maybe he's a larger benevelont jockey and the ones encountered by the prometheus crew a smaller more aggressive species that infected him and turned his crew to all those eggs (Dallas cacoon scene where he was being transformed into a face hugger) If there is a 30 year difference as stated between Prometheus and Alien that derilect ship could be old alien/space jockey technology, because the movie, screenplay and books seem to make it ancient, maybe thats why you have eggs and no steel looking cylinders.

Nah Damon said that the prometheus and Nostromo were different purpose ships! Thus explainning the techno differences!

1. They find the temple with the cylinders. 2. They get "infected" by some DNA-changing Substance 3. Shaw gets "pregnant" by her friend (who has unfortunatelly also been infected) 4. The "baby" is born but is somekind of "wired octopus-beeing" 5. The octopus changes into engineer 6. The species died long ago, but "waited" for hosts to come to bring them back to life 7. now they are back to life, and humans are hunted as there can only be "one god" voila - maybe, maybe not. Maybe its much simpler than this...

It's pretty awesome that it came with the egg....or urn or ampule...oh whatever...

let's hope that cool looking craft is generously addressed in this film, rather than it just having a fly-by at the beginning of the movie..(?)

Silica i agree with you, and have always felt this way about Giger's imagery. For example, a figure is stuck to a wall. What is that figure's purpose in life? Too be stuck to a wall? The Sj in the original Alien was a design. A thought. I can't wait to see what Ridley comes up with. Honestly, I'd love to see Giger direct a film! That'd be truely mind blowing!
