What I think is that this follows close to the story of newt in the book series and the comics and I mean that as in the elephantine race or "space jockeys" are Terra formers of dead planets so a bit god like. If anyone has read the books they know that earth is dead and another elephantine tells newt he plans to Terra form earth into a living planet again but I digress, I think the goo is the Terra forming stuff and thats why the humans want it more to the point Wayland wants it but as always something goes wrong alien appears reeks havoc and the elephantine in prometheus become the the very same one in alien one and the crew dont make it and Wayland covers it up and later sticks a colony there so he can get his wish. Samples and live specimens, anyone else thinking the same?

That actually sounds like a very clever story telling the ppl how rulers pretend to act for the best of the ppl as the ppl is to stupid to know what is good for them, and it would be "worse" without the wise ruler. and still nothing changed :( :p

i know, that's logic, but seems in real life, when ppl panic in a situation they often do the oposite of what would be logic hence shaw's reaction is human :p

Mind you......weve seen footage of the ship hitting the ground on its side.....the tip hits first....not its arse end....then it rolls around onto its arse end. If i was Vickers i would run at a 90 degree angle to the ship.....not away directly in its path like in the cartoons lol.

I think belladonna is right on with this one. Its similar to a thought that I've had about us having technology like this in our homes in the future. Like X-ray machines, heart monitors, etc. I just think we'll be more in tune, and more in control of our health.

I think there's gonna be more species ... I reckon 7+ ... 5 (from the 5 silos that we know of), the Engineer(s) and then us humans ... then ... more from the mutations ... it's gonna get nasty ...

just like any successful corp. they are covering their ass. Look through Weyland websites under timeline, and any technology that appears in trailers so far has a patent # and explanation.

who knows if it is the same ship but i doubt a race would make only one ship... for all we know there could be hundreds or even thousands of those crash landed on planets and moons all over the universe. thats like aliens coming to earth and seeing that we only have ONE car or ONE boat on the entire planet, of course we made tons more then that and i assume the jockies did also. im not saying it isnt the same ship, but just pointing out that there could be many more ships that had different circumstances.

because having babies the "natural" was is disgusting and painful and maybe in the future they realize a c section is safer and women don't have to tear from their V to their A anymore. im assuming that pod is programmed for many surgeries. appendix's can burst at any time and need to be removed, maybe someone is impaled or shot and needs something removed, amputations, cancer and other growths and abnormalities, so on. my father had cancer and had it removed with a robotic surgical device, a doctor operates it but maybe that pod is the same thing but so much more advanced it doesn't need a human to fully operate its movements.

PROMETHEUS definitely doesn't appear to be another "bug-hunt", this one delves not only into the far reaches of outer space - - but delves intelligently, into the far reaches of the inner-space of some of our mind's questions, - - "who are we REALLY / where do we REALLY come from..??" wow....

Because of something i just thought of.......see my new thread "NEW THEORY" that im about to type.....bear with me, this might take a while.

from what i could see after watching / re-watching all the PROMETHEUS teasers / trailers, the Enginner's craft seems to be EXTREMELY TOUGH not only appearing to keep it's overall hull integrity, but made a M A S S I V E divot in the ground it hits, not to mention the rolls it seems to be doing as both Vickers and Shaw run for there lives as its rolling hard in their direction i think the ship finally lands as it would if it were to have not been rammed at least, that is what i can deduce from all the imagery i've seen so far i was once told, that the structure of nature us far stronger / superior than something that is man-made, or in this case, Engineered (pun intended)

I don't buy it's the same ship or the fact it can repair itself ... if it could repair itself then why is it still on LV-426 ... so why not do a proper job and sort the engines out and get off that planet? ...

That is Holloway in that scene, I can't find a good pic, but I've seen clear image of his name on yellow cap.

sorry svanya, but the pic clearly shows the guy infected has stubble, David has none.

He does seem to like to touch every freakin' thing he sees so im sure it would be pretty easy to get infected with something. im guessing the droids have to be somewhat organic, the white fluid they have seems a lot like their version of blood. i dont see why something purely mechanical would need that much fluid in it. at least something more like gun oil to lubricate its insides, not white goopey stuff. im pretty sure if i use milk instead of oil in my car it isnt going to work... LOL

Or maybe its not the same ship as in prometheus....

Fantastic. Streitenfeld is one big question mark for the film.The potential is there, but this score will likely be the highest profile thing he's ever done. I'd hope for a mix of Goldsmith and Goldenthal, but if that were the objective, Marco Beltrami should have gotten the assignment. We'll see. Just glad to hear there is a choral element--lends itself to the height of epic.

ok but again 1 more qtn ... in ALIEN the ship is shown whole like the pic ... now hows that possible cause in Prometheus one part of the ship is on "FIRE" .. so technically ALIEN should show a part of the ship destroyed ...

The reason i say what i do is because.....its highly plausible that if a synthetic can be infected by a bio....or bio mechanoid virus or worm and become blue meanie. Then surley the synthetic or solid material urns can also catch this virus or whatever and thus transform into eggs. Is it just coincidence that the eggs in Alien are pretty damn close in layout as the urns in Prometheus? I just thought.......the ceiling in the dumdum head room changes doesnt it? Perhaps this is the virus spreading throught the ship and turning the ship organic which would explain why the ship in Alien has bone structures within it....but not in Prometheus. Theres a pile of what looks like organic matter in one of the tunnels that everyone believes is a pile of dead SP`s.......what if its a by product of an infected ship trying to create organic matter? What if the ship is already infected when Prometheus turns up and our presence simply kicks the virus into action? The ship could be in quarentine of some kind on the planet. Perhaps blue meanie by the waterfall has caught the virus, dropped HIMSELF on an inhabitable planet and programmed the ship to quarretine ITSELF. But then we turn up and as usual all hell breaks loose.....bloody humans lol. What if blue meanie ISNT so mean after all and is actually trying to save the universe.

id love to know what the droids are made of, all they have told it seems is what the insides were REALLY made from behind the scenes.
