The movie you are describing is "Spectral" (2016), a science fiction action film directed by Nic Mathieu. The story follows a scientist and his team who create advanced goggles that allow the wearer to see spectral beings invisible to the naked eye. The military uses the goggles to investigate a series of strange events in a war-torn city in Eastern Europe.
