Showa or MonsterVerse. Showa was new and original, and MonsterVerse gave us a look at how these characters can be utilized here and now.
The Showa era and it's not close.
It's the most diverse and creative set of movies that set a precedence for not just the series, but the entire genre. It also includes the most talented filmmakers in the franchise, from Honda to Fukuda, from Tsuburaya to Arikawa and Nakano.
Honda himself was the blueprint for it all, creating the straight faced original, the satirical King Kong vs. Godzilla, the absolute standard of "versus" monster movies with Mothra vs. Godzilla and the highly scrutinized, but wholly unique and undervalued All Monsters Attack.
He opened the series and he ended the series. Everyone in between took what he did and spun their level of talent with it. Particularly Jun Fukuda, who made some of the most conceptually nimble and budget deficit films in the series work.
There's a reason Criterion released the Showa series. It's importance can not be understated.
I am somewhat disappointed about there not being a Shin Godzilla 2, but this sounds like it will be worth the wait.

I would like to see more variants of the vanillamorph, having xenomorph bursting from non-humans is always a fun concept to me. Think of the variations
When I was 4, my to favorite things were superheroes and dinosaurs. Godzilla is a dinosaur with superpowers. It was great, even now I love the nostalgia of watching Godzilla vs Megalon for the 50th time. Now it's hard to believe it, but a couple guys in a rubber suit is still a big part of who I am. Rodan and Anguirus are my favorites, they are underrated and cool characters. I am hoping to see Anguirus and Rodan in the monsterverse, as Rodan got little screen time and Anguirus never showed up at all.
It looks cool, but honestly that neck is creepy.
I would like to ADD some Context to the Past/Future....
The Vanilla-Variant i refer to as Originating from LV-426 (assumes in Context with the Prequels that Davids Xenomorph gets to LV-426). And so YEAH the Aesthetic of THESE are Similar......
so by FUTURE i am looking at Encounters that Happen say after 2180 (or after 2122 but FAR FAR away). Would such Encounters give us our Traditional Looking Xenomorph?
*Could they have Evolved on some World to be Different?
*Could we see them Experimented on to Produce something Different?
*Or should the Xenomorph remain as we have seen in the ALIEN Franchise?
By looking at the Past.... i am talking about Prior to 2122....
*Are the Xenomorphs we have seen in the Franchise found ONLY on LV-426 and so they will all Appear Similar?
*Had something Evolved or been Experimented on to become our Xenomorphs and THIS Organism they Originated from SHOULD it look Similar or Different?
*Was the Derelict the ONLY Ship that had those Eggs and would ANY that are on other SHIPS be Similar or Different?
Again this is WITHOUT looking at LV-223 and the Black Goo as these are Avenues to Many Variations of MONSTER...
And so WHAT i was asking is that say IF we have the New Movie, then should its Sequels also ALL stick to the Vanilla-Variant? And IF we have the New TV Series then should Season 2, Season 3 etc all STICK to the Variant we are USED too?
It would seem they (those working on a Prometheus Sequel) had Envisioned a Direct Contact with the Black Goo would have Produced something thats like a Cross Between the Deacon and Neomorph.
It would be Interesting to see the Engineers the RISK with them as ALWAYS is IF you Consider such Stories as Canon... is WHY is the Earth still FULL of Humans?
I think its ODD that the Neomorphs are the same as on Planet 4, the WAY i looked at them was we see in Damp Environments we have MOLD/SPORES that have Grown and the GOO has Infected these Organisms to become a METHOD to Procreate a Hybrid Life-form.
If the Black Goo goes and Infects some MOLD/SPORES etc on another World then the RESULT would be similar i would say.
However IF the Goo infects a Organism Directly would it LOOK like the Neomorph or be a Little Different?
We only have to look at Fifield...... but other Concept Work and Ideas had him become something that was maybe more Similar to the Neomorph. Indeed looking at Concepts from 2014 then the OUTCOME is similar to the Neomorph too, but then THIS is NOT what we saw with the Engineers on Planet 4 but i guess thats for a Different Topic.
I think that yeah for some the Engineers were NOT that ALIEN looking but they looked that WAY to FIT with the Ancient Astronaut Plot.... i mean they could all have Ended Up looking like Greek Gods or how Christianity Depicts God in some Works and so we have 10ft Tall Santaclauses ;)
The reason i mention the Engineers in this TOPIC was purely that IF we go for them being a Race who Created Horrors like we see with the Black Goo, then WHO KNOWS as to HOW-MANY kind of Horror was Created/Experimented on LV-223.
It seems like there was 5 Temple Complexes and inside Each there was more than the ONE BIG ROOM like the Big Head/Mural Room... would EVERY such Room in EVERY of those Complexes all ONLY have the ONE TYPE of Black Goo?
And then the Substance can Create Variants/Hybrids depending on WHAT LIFE it would Infect.... so the SCOPE for Various kinds of SPACE NASTIES is Huge.
Ah! I see what you mean (Different Kind of Chest Buster and NOT the actual Method of where/how they Burst from). In this case then YES the BODYBURSTER is kind of like the Host having its DNA changed like say the Worms had became the Hammerpedes and like HOW we had FIFIELD in other Concepts.
So seeing a Host become Infected and Mutate from inside into something NEW and seeing their Skin Break and Tear Off as the Hosts Bone Structure etc is Mutated into a HORROR would be Interesting.... in some of the Ideas i have had for ALIEN Stories i had it where a Host could be Infected in such a way.
And so YES something like the Body Burster would be Interesting to see, i am SURE that MANY of us remember as to how ICONIC the American Werewolf in London Scene (Transformation) was to see a Human become a Xeno-Hybrid and this Hybrid Extend and Tear from Under their Skin would be GREAT ;)
I'm not a comic book guy, but it's good to see that they haven't totally abandoned the Engineers. I'm not sure how much big of a role they will have and or be featured there, but they might use that as a test to see how many that want to see the Engineers in some way. Hopefully enough people will be interested in seeing them.

If they go with the Engineers I guess that they must be made more alien than Prometheus did. I don't count Covenant because they were hardly in it. Maybe they could save some of what we saw in Prometheus but come up with something that add to the mystery. One thing is that the more you answer, the more mystery you got to create and it also got to be interesting.
What if it ends with the Engineers dropping a bio-bomb and the last thing you see is a huge explosion or something similar? That would add some mystery and not explain everything, which is needed in a horror-movie.

Siren head is an online monster that borders on creepypasta, copyrighting it would be a nightmare.
And for me it doesnt seem right for it to fight goji. The scary version of the monster is no where near the godzilla size. I dont think it works well as a kaiju.
There are several clickbait vs Godzilla videos online about it and its always struck me as odd

Well the two bursters types I mentioned are in the ALIEN RPG, the bodyburster is a xenomorph offshoot. Since it infects a human host with spores rather than a facehugger similiar to a neomorph however, instead of a chestburster, the host transforms into a xenomorph by shedding its skin.
The Goreburster is the original bodyburster first introduced by Dark Horse Comics. Basically they are gigantic black chestburster that never matures into its adult form.
Both variants belong to the Xenomorph XX121 offshoot; Xenomorph XX121AB

Thats a Interesting Point...... throughout the Franchise and Including Books, Games and Comics the Creators/Teams who WORK on them.... sometimes DO-NOT have as IN-DEPTH knowledge or Experience of the Franchise.
A Good Example is John Spaights.... when he worked on what would become Prometheus, it seemed that HE was NOT like 100% Familiar with the Canon and Time-Line with Regards to some Aspects.
I Doubt he was the First to do this and he Wont be the Last. so its a Question of HOW MUCH do those working on the TV Show and New Movie know about the Franchise in Depth? How Often have they seen the Movies etc?
