My favorite episode so far too. My only nitpick was already addressed by an interview with Noah Hawley and that was how poorly Boy Kavalier handled the sabotage.
My favorite episode also. It was like watching an Alien movie. No teenagers and boring storylines. I hope it continues that way.
What is the Origae 6 reference in Romulus? I missed the easter egg 😯
I havent watched it yet but my popcorn is ready. Cant wait. :p
good to hear it’s one of the best episodes.
It's actually really good : )
It's a bit boring tho : )
I reckon the Giga would win because of sheer size and its bite force but then again the Spino could win as well. I mean... it did take down a T-rex. The Giga has been shown to possess incredible strength, durability and stamina. I don't think the Spino could defeat that.
I honestly thought at first the ocellus was trying to warn her. Then I realized it was distracting her. It's frightfully intelligent. I think the acid could have been from the failed removal of the facehugger off the captain.
I also enjoyed episode 5 as it was the most "alien" so far. I think T ocellus is highly aggressive and even tried unsuccessfully to take over the xeno. I also wonder if it has hypnotic or telekinetic powers as I think it may have messed with the lady scientist's mind while she was feeding the "space ticks" and made her forget to put the seal back on the containment jar. We only saw two of those ticks in the earlier episodes but it sure looked like there were a lot more on the loose after the engineering apprentice died. I also don't recall seeing what caused the hole in the floor in the lab. That seems to have been created before the advent of the xeno that we see creating havoc on the ship. So was there another xeno that we haven't seen yet or did I miss something?

I would. I grew up Kenner alien figures in the 90s. I have a neomorph plush
I hope our grandchildren aren't old by the time they finish these movies.
Ick! Who would give that to a kid?
I thought David created that horror.David never made them. He only imitated. There's too much evidence in Prometheus and Alien that debunks David as their creator.
I am going to watch all the Alien movies again. After reading some of the responses here, I might have a better understanding. Thank you, everyone.
I already did and my question was answered.
I like this shot; it reminds me of NECA Cougar Alien.
Still dislike the front of the head tho.
I can't edit my post so I will add that I don't want another David movie, a movie where he plays a big role because I'm honestly done with that.
One of the references is Alien: The Role Playing Game. I'm guessing there. By my count I think you can see roughly five pyramids on LV 233. So there has to be at least three juggernauts left behind. Not even the Fire and Stone series took those into account.
At least three Juggernauts for sure. More than enough for David to play with and also – a setup for a potential escape for the Human characters. Imagine, the Spage Jockey in Alien (1979) was actually a HUMAN who escaped David's carnival of horrors on LV-223, but didn't know they had been incubated with an Alien beforehand. Commandeers a Juggernaut, somehow manages to fit inside the biotech pressure shit attached to the chair, tries to escape not knowing that ship carries a cargo full of eggs. It would be a stretch for sure since the Jockey is HUGE and a Human would be tiny inside that suit. Fans would probably quit the franchise if it turned out to be a Human though 😂🤣 So nvm actually.
A better idea is – Engineers come back to discover what David did on Planet 4 and track him down to LV-223 and a battle ensues by a faction of Engineers and David's army of various alien creations. Then, the last Engineer – maybe a BIGGER, God entity one, above the Engineers we saw in Prometheus and Covenant, is the Space Jockey and David gets the last laugh by unknowingly impregnating him before he leaves the moon.
IMAGINE the connections you could make – imagine that Derelict was also on a mission to seed Earth with Aliens in RETALIATION for what David did to their sacred settlement on Planet 4! I'd get behind that. And then it showcases Humanity's Ascension into the universal hierarchy, of which Engineers and Mankind are vying for intergalactic dominance! This is the stuff I'd love to see played out on a grand scale.
"... it was Fox executive Tom Rothman who ultimately put his foot down and removed that aspect from the film..."A lot of times the studios make the movies worse, but this was for the better. I vomit at that idea
Agreed – I'm usually disappointed by studio interventions but in this case it probably saved the franchise – even though the film was still the worst of the series. Lol

Yeah, let's keep the topic on topic! @Love Sci Fi, please keep questions / comments on topic and let's not get too off track. Questions are great and encouraged! But as Neomorph and ninXeno426 have pointed out - your comments don't really follow the natural flow of conversation for this specific topic. Thanks for understanding! Ask all the questions you like in your own topic - that's what the feature is for! :)
Ew....... Also, speaking of gross things, I was on reddit and came across a post that pointed out that the cocooned people around the Queen were all men, men who had tubes coming out of the bottoms of the pods, and those tubes went into the "vagina" of the Queen.... They were theorizing that the men were the fathers of the newborn.
Wait what?! 😂 Is that speculation or is that actually another weird aspect of that scene? What an abomination, that film really emphasized the dangers of cloning and tampering with biological processes we have very little understanding of.
Ew.......

It's a big wtf moment right down to the design. I actually do kinda like the moment where it mimics David's cross pose but that's about it. I think it has more to do with the score honestly.
What reference did Xenopedia use to mention Origae-6 was overdue for colonization? I suspect David took the ship to another location – I would be willing to bet he took the ship BACK to LV-223, knowing there's a treasure trove of Black Goo housed away in the Engineer pyramids, ships to get off world if need be and an entire planet ecosystem to let his creations run loose on.
Imagine a sequel to Covenant going back to LV-223?! It could coincide with a rescue mission Weyland Industries or Weyland-Yutani likely would have sent in search for the Trillion dollar Prometheus mission. The crew of Covenant and Walter were aware of the lost Prometheus mission meaning the company was well aware of it and its employees were well aware also.
Go back to LV-223, discover David's legion of monsters, maybe an adult form of the Deacon! It would be a fangasm overload lol
I noticed a few of these too! I wonder if they were done intentionally. Trying to forget the David / Protoburster / moment, though... 😅
Yeah, I quite enjoyed these animations! Leave it to the fandom to make their own stories in that side of the universe while we wait for Scott to return 😂
It's always an android 🙄 But realistically it's the only logical option, given none of the Human crew would voluntarily risk their vulnerability to any of the specimens. So yeah, I think it was the Android lol
Part four is out now? Oh hell yeah these have been good so far. The ME Reaper husks are only a minor distraction
I'm all for it. I just hope it doesn't connect to the LV 426 Derelict like he's suggested in the past. Leave that a mystery. I don't think answer to that Will ever satisfy. I'm curious about Origae 6 being acknowledged in Romulus. I had to track down the image (thank you Reddit), look far right. Was Origae 6 colonized after all? Did David actually go there?
Wait, how did we miss the Origae-6 reference in Alien: Romulus?! I missed that Easter egg – that is a pretty big deal. Or is it simply the company recruiting for that mission again after the Covenant went off course? Enough time would have passed surely... That distinct deserves its own topic, imo. Thank you for sharing that!
I second this. On multiple topics you keep mentioning that the Alien franchise confuses you. This topic was already partially intended to include a clear timeline, Why Alien is seemingly separate and why that's ok. You brought more questions not entirely related to this topic here. Please do start a topic of your own and elaborate your confusion and the community will do it's best to address them.
I would be OK with it if the human characters are better done, if we get more about the Engineers and less about the androids. Don't make David the creator of he Xeno because that sucks ass. Honestly I'm not too interested in another prequel.
Looks like certain images didn't upload. I'll try again here
Yes, follow up on Covenant so we could finally (hopefully) get some well deserved closure. Leaving Daniels and Tennessee in the freezer for evil David to plan his experimental cooking is just foul lol. Have David cornered by a pissed off mob of surviving colonists armed with colonial farming tools, and let them go full medieval on his milky android ass. Shred him to bits and blow him out the airlock through his favorite flute to the tune of Einzug der Götter in Walhall by Das Rheingold Prodigy Remix.*Credits roll*That's quality writing right there. Anyway I can't stand David but that's a testament to how well Michael Fassbender portrays the vile mastermind. It would also be a perfect opportunity to flesh out his motives beyond passionately creating, philosophing and destroying. Wickedness aside he's an interesting multifaceted character not entirely unlike Tony Soprano or Patrick Bateman and surely he must've evolved a lot during the journey towards Origae-6, his own giant canvas for sure.Realistically though I don't think a sequel will happen. Will Michael, Katherine Waterston and Danny McBride be interested at this point, 8 years after the release of Covenant? Maybe, hopefully. Who knows but fingers crossed that it'll happen and more importantly that it will at least be above average.Katherine Waterstone and Michael Fassbender had expressed interest in returning earlier this year. If McBride isn't interested they can just give him the ol' Hicks/Newt/Shaw treatment lol
Yeah the good old "dead on arrival" Alien tradition lol

Also according to the original post "The entry of the gods into Valhalla" can be faintly heard during this scene.

Nope. Just watch Prometheus and Alien. The Praetomorph is an imitation
