No... not yet. Think I will check it out. Im not really a gamer but I DO ENJOY the odd first person shooter. Since I am an Alien fan, this will be a definate buy for me. It looks VERY GOOD from what I have seen. Gearbox is a pretty good developer, so will probably be worth the purchase price. Sheeeet... I had Aliens vs. Predator back in 1994 for the Atari Jaguar. That was 1 of the FIRST First Person shooter games on a home console ever. It was a pretty unique game for its time.

As a big Aliens fan and a big 1st person shooter fan, I can say i'm just about excited for this game as i am for the Prometheus movie. Various studios completely butchered Alien based games in recent years. The last good one was AVP 2 for windows, that was like 2000 i think. Only 1 predator in the marine missions made for a very Aliens-esque atmosphere. Colonial Marines has been in the works for nearly a decade, and It has potential to be a landmark in Alien saga if the story is good

I've been looking forward to this game since it was first announced waaaaay back in...2007? (The first anticipated release date was 2009. I remember thinking "man that's not for a few years!". LOL it's now April 2012 and the game's still not out.) Anyway, does anyone know the new release date?

Look at it's leg. It doesn't look natural .. it must at least be some kind of suit.

It may have been on VHS too. But, I didn't see that version. It was definitely a reel projector version probably about 1984/5. It does slow the pace a bit. I remember also reading the book and it worked really well there. Thanks for the thoughts. Just got on my nerves that I knew that scene was in the film that I saw originally, and then I never saw it any time after that, until recently. I wondered if I'd imagined it for a while. :o)

I guess it all just speculation until we see it..... until then I'd like to make a prediction- The 'squid' (as people have come to call it) will end up being the 1st 'egg' that we've seen in all the other movies......

The Quadrilogy boxset (and now in single DVDs) has that deleted scene in the Directors Cut version. On the extras disc for Alien, Tom Skerrett said that it was cut because the scene slowed down the pacing of the film. He seemed disappointed about the cut :(

@draekus I guess you're right ... I'm very puzzled because then we have blue SJs that looks like humans and we have one or more tiny blue guys (mini SJs). They must be related somehow, but how? Perhabs mini SJs are SJ androids? Seems legit if they are super intelligent.

Uncut version, saw it on VHS. You might be able to get it on eBay. That part followed the book. The books, in my opinion, were better. (especially Alien 2, since it explained how the aliens got to the outpost)

It's on the DVD I think. I'll post it again, but really wanna find the original post/thread I made here. :( From what I understand, Cameron invented the Queen. (Giger liked the design of the Queen Alien). Here is the link to the thread *finally found it*. Deleted Scene Thread

BigDavePrometheus ForumInspiration for new MONSTERS!
As far as inspiration well look at the Derelict, the Xeno, the Face Hugger and Chest Burster, look at the Walls/architecture design of the Derelict in both movies, the Halls in Prometheus the Hives in Aliens. They all look and are based of Artwork by Giger. Look at his Artwork of the Birth Cycle, it shows what could be influence of the Jockey and this Artwork they apear to be Space Suits and not a actual Creature i.e like in Alien. Then when you look at a few other peices of his work, he has what looks like Eels with the head of a Xeno, or like Chest Burster Stage Xenos only bigger. I think we will see Giger influences in this movie.

So, if it was deleted, how did I see it? Very odd. There must have been at least one copy out there with the scene still in. Wonder where that is now. Hmm. Things like this really perplex me :o)

Sorry to say but it has tenticles. Here That is more than one appendage. From what i have seen it apears to be like a Squid/Octopus with 4 appendages, which is what seems to be like what David Pulls from the Canister/Pods

Could it be that "blue guy" approaching Shaw is just a human wearing the jockey's bio-mechanical suit? (I'm guessing the suit would re-adjust itself to the wearer's body?)

allinambercladPrometheus ForumWhy Shaw must be religious
Religion, or the overt Faith of a character in a movie like this, may as well be taboo - so if it is present as a theme here, it's noteworthy. With that, if you offer a speculation that, "the story itself is not going to be sufficiently disturbing to get the characters believably worked up", and query whether you may be right,or may be wrong? I'd bet on you being wrong, there. I'd speculate the explicit purpose of Shaw's overt Faith in this particular story, is for us to experience, by proxy, some challenge to it: perhaps her notions of The Benevolent Creator, (while not universal - deeply rooted in our Human society) are fundamentally and spectacularly undermined and overturned with extreme prejudice - a mechanism by which to deliver maximum emotional trauma, like the rape of the nun in 'Bad Lieutenant'. If that is how it plays out, I wouldn't necessarily consider that a direct political/anti-religious positioning - (and, in fact, it might be just the opposite) - I'd tend to consider it as a shock device, using the tropes of Faith, to comment on just how much the brutal nature of reality may differ from what we, as a Species, do seem, somehow, to so much want to believe: which, (while we are not completely naive), does seem to be that, one way or another, there is something out there, or "up" there, somewhere - some Higher Being or Beings that are actually nobler than we; that we can aspire to, that can teach us, who will make us feel not quite so alone in this vast and cold place, with our big brains and no-one else to talk to. Through Shaw's experience, we may be asked to consider that, if that Higher Being exists, it may not be nobler than we, contrary to our hopes and our Faith. Perhaps, being Higher, rather than seeking to raise us up on it's right hand, it is completely uninterested in our measures of nobility and regards us only with contempt, if it regards us at all . Or, we may find that Shaw's [our] Faith is actually validated, but that it was only placed in the wrong place... I'd only say that , if Shaw's Faith has been made an explicit issue for the purpose of this story, we should expect that Faith to be tested.

I believe the smaller blue guy will weigh in around the size of David.

I posted a link and long explanation to that in another thread. I forget which one, need a search engine!!! XD As far as I know, Ridley never wanted that in the lore and he deleted it for good. What scared me about it was that the Alien didn't need a Queen to reproduce.*runs off to find the thread* Here is a link to the original, deleted scene *Click the blue writing: Alien, deleted "Egg" scene

This image is the most puzzling one. If we forget the Alien Space Jockey image and throw that out but not the dimentions of the Chair compared to Humans in Alien and then Chair in Prometheus. The Space Jockey/Blue Man does apear to be about 9ft tall. Those suits on the wall seem large and maybe again 9ft or even bigger. The image of the Jockey on the Floor and crew examining its head on the floor also looks like a creature well over 10ft tall (but then they are closer to camera) Looking at the size of the head on the med table would apear to be nearly 3X that of the Scientist, but if its a Mask/Helmet then a Smaller Head would fit into it but then allowing that the creature that would wear that Mask/Helmet would have to be about 10ft tall. But that one image with Shaw in it, shows a Jockey/Blue Guy who is much Smaller?

@ Gem[n]: Take a closer look at the brightness enhanced photo of Shaw in that hallway with the 2 SJ suits to her right. You should be able to make out 2 more behind her. 4 total. I'm assuming there are probably more around the bone-ship (derelict) in other areas... Or maybe they're statues?

Well I posted a couple pics in an earlier thread that pretty much tell me David does get infected. To what end, we shall see. Good 'ole CSI teeth anaysis! (**Ugh, can't find the post, been looking for 13 min, just gonna repost the pics.) I am pretty sure this is David and he is screaming in pain covered in the goo. The teeth are identical, so It's gotta be Fassbender.
