XenotarisAlien: Romulus ForumAlien: Romulus spoilers / rumors thread

the hatred of Synths feels a little out of place considering the timeline.

In Prometheus it was okay since Human-like Synths were relatively new, although the viral site indicated that most people where fine with the Synthetics in general.

Alien Covenant, we see a lack of Synth prejudice with Walter

Alien, the crew were more surprised that Ash was a robot then genuine hate

Aliens, everyone was fine with Bishop except for Ripley (until they became friends)

Alien 3, no Synth hatred

Alien Resurrection, I think this is the only time were we saw people genuine hated synths for well uprising against mankind (a hallmark of Joss Weadon lore, everything he writes about Robots always includes this)

PS. I hate the toaster analogy when describing a fully sapient robot. A toaster was never given intelligence nor a will to survive. The biological equivalent to the toaster analogy is someone getting upset for killing a weed. You can't compare humans to a weed just like you can't compare a thinking/feeling robot with a simple kitchen appliance.

G. H. (Gman)Godzilla: Minus Zero ForumGodzilla Minus One [Japanese] Box Office Watch (06/03/2024)

05/14/2024c:
As of Thursday, May 9th tracking has finally ended for Godzilla Minus One. After 28 weeks in theaters, only 90 theaters are now showing it in Japan and the number is dwindling. So it's unlikely it will move the needle much now. Its legendary run has placed it as the following:

- 1st highest-grossing live-action domestic film of the Reiwa Political Era.
- 1st highest-grossing domestic live-action 2023 film in Japan.
- 1st live-action Japanese film to pass 7 Billion Yen in 5 years.
- 2nd highest-grossing/attended kaiju film in last 13 years.
- 4th highest-grossing domestic 2023 film in Japan.
- 4th live-action Japanese film to pass 6 Billion Yen in 10 years.
- 5th highest-grossing 2023 film in Japan.
- 8th most attended Godzilla movie in Japan.
- 96th highest-grossing movie in Japan.

Godzilla Minus One ends its tracking with 7.59 Billion Yen ($51.6 Million) and an attendance of 5.04 Million. Congratulations to Godzilla Minus One's team and Toho for the historic box office run. We'll update if actuals ever get released. (Eiga RankingKogyotsushin)

Well there is no need for that because Gigan will appear in the new MonsterVerse anime: Monarch G-Team

Wow these are magnificent.. makes me wish they continued on with exploring more of the Prometheus mythos on film. The visuals of that film are still awe-inspiring. Great post, thanks for sharing Nebula!

What actually makes a good Alien movie is the mystery, the unanswered questions. I hope this one will deliver also on that front and leave us wanting for more.

I am not very thrilled though about the young siblings' perspective, who don't know how to open the f*cking airlock. I just hope it is not a Twilight saga with aliens.

Fantastic!

I'd like to see something more claustrophobic. No place to run. Like the A L I E N... tight corridors. Bishop crawling in the pipe always freaks me out!

It's set after Godzilla Aftershock, so there's no contradiction. Not yet at least.

That practical Xenomorph looks amazing.

It looks like this film will have many visual callbacks to the first two films.

Always remarkable the capacity for Human empathy towards machines throughout films but especially Alien, the fact we can have compassion for artificial life. It's like feeling bad for a toaster for being used on bagels every day lol. Foreshadowing a bizarre future where man and machine coexist and the lines become blurred even further.

Dark NebulaAlien: Romulus ForumAlien: Romulus Xenomorph analysis and comparison

Hard to see what's in the background, but something tells me it's a hive.

Also, according to Entertainment Weekly: "Alien: Romulus is set between the events of Alien and Aliens, and Alvarez was a stickler for communicating that through specific details. The gun that Spaeny is wielding in the photo above, for instance, is meant to be halfway between the flamethrower Ripley wielded against the original Xenomorph and the pulse rifle used in Aliens.

The same scrutiny was applied to the Xenomorph’s design, which Alvarez promises is closer to H.R. Giger’s original creation than any other iteration."

"It's the name of their colony, just like "Hadley's Hope", JACKSON would be part of the name in this one from ALIEN: ROMULUS A heavy militarized and gritty city with a inherent hate to the synths, we'll see a lot of their lifestyle."

Poor synths.

Nice, thanks for sharing! A xeno once again lurking in low-visibility environments, the perfect set up for scares!

Maybe we'll get some Alien Isolation-esque POV scenes while the protagonists are hiding. That was one of the most terrifying aspects about the game imo, stuck in a room under a table with only one way out (medical level for instance) and the xeno's lanky legs walking past the table, in and out of the room at irregular intervals. Slightest mistake and it's game over, at least on nightmare mode.
