Crossing fingers it'll be good. The Alien franchise needs to be reignited again.
“In this reimagining”
It seems like the series will be its own thing, separate from the main films, which I’m fine with.
All is good.
Someone: Why are you so mad after losing a gaming match? It's just a game bro, calm down.
Also, that same person when someone in an alien (and any horror) film does something dumb:

07/04/2024:
And this is it. Godzilla x Kong has either ended its theatrical run or it's just making so little that it's no longer being tracked. The final numbers from last week remain the same.
Being almost the polar opposite of Godzilla Minus One in terms of success, Godzilla x Kong ends its run with 1.71 Billion Yen ($11.03 Million) the lowest-grossing Monsterverse film in Japan. It is the 7th least attended Godzilla movie in Japanese box office history and the 4th least-attended live-action Godzilla film in Japanese box office history.
Charts final.
Guys, these aren't new rules. These have been in place since after 1998. Nothing new.
Probably just means eating, Since hunting and attacking are too vague to define
Not to mention, would be hard to write a ca movie with thoae restrictions
I wonder to what extent "preying" means. Eating yes but this sounds more like an expansion of that requirement, as if Godzilla can not consciously attack or hunt or pursue people or things. Leaving him to be some ominous destructive entity with no personal vendetta?
These aren't really new rules, We know Toho did not want Godzilla eating other Kaiju as far back as Godzilla vs Biollante, Deutalios was cut for that very reason
I believe it applies to any and all uses of the Godzilla character so that would include the Monsterverse.
Alien Romulus on the cover of Fangoria

I remember Kameobas V.6 started one of these before it got deleted
Now is this only for the Monsterverse incarnation or all franchise-wide incarnations?
Hopefully this movie will be good
So much for a good Minus One sequel. I was looking forward for a sequel where either Godzilla and the monster he fought in the sequel were equally evil or Godzilla went through major character development before "saving" humanity from the kaiju, but this new rule just ruined either chances of happening.
Velociraptor. But seriously I think it's a xeno foot. If I recall correctly, Mike mentioned the old chap wasn't in the trailer so I guess it's another xeno waking up from a wall Aliens-style.
Oh the politics wasn't intentional :) it was merely a random example of a wall of text used to describe his doctoral theses that, although very long were interesting to read.
The cow story was hilarious XD
Don't think politics can fly on these forums.
But yes, BigDave would sometimes get carried away, get off-topic, and write a whole essay. It reminds me of Wikipedia's lamest edit wars. One of my personal favorites is the edit war on the Wiki page for cow tipping, where somebody added a photo of a cow staring at the camera with the caption "An unsuspecting potential victim?" as a silly joke, and it resulted in a huge discussion in the talk page about whether that cow should be classified as unsuspecting because it's looking at the photographer, and there's nobody else there.
Mike from Mike's Monsters, who has seen the film's rough cut, mentioned in his reaction video what it is, which makes me excited to see how the full scene plays out in the film. And it’s all practical.
I love this shot

It is very reminiscent of the scene from Alien when Big Chap sneaks on Brett
According to Mike from Mike's Monsters, this is the disgusting scene Isabela Merced talked about in the interviews. Gee, I do wonder

It feels like a remake of the original to me.
Did you guys end up making it? It's been like 10 years since i was last here, would be nice to catch up (used to go by Cat Zilla)

Right on Nebula and the latest trailer certainly didn't decrease the hype either! But where is everybody? This site is usually visited by several veterans and newcomers this close to the release date.

^Nice one
Me on June 4th coming home from work and finding out the new Alien: Romulus trailer dropped

Oh yeah I forgot about that one! That laser in Aliens seemed to be more of a straightforward (like the whole movie itself) bio scanner but I'm not sure.
@Xenotaris Good luck with finding it, the devs went with the digitigrade look for animation purposes.
@FarthestNormal I'm definitely getting the NECA figure. If Big Chap is indeed in the film, I wonder if they will do a battle-damaged figure of him, with that meteor capsule, maybe if the figures sold well. The Prometheus and Covenant lines did not sell well, and NECA discontinued them.
@Neomorph If I recall, the blue laser/mist was also at the beginning of Aliens when Ripley was found.

The 8th weekend of Godzilla x Kong in Japanese theaters finally broke 1.70 Billion Yen with 1.71 Billion Yen ($11.16 Million). It is currently at an estimated 1.17 Million in attendance. (Movie Web Media Editor-and-Chief) Despite the movement, it continues to be the 7th least-attended Godzilla film of all time for nearly four weeks. The question is whether or not it can crawl fast enough to tie or surpass Tokyo SOS.
Charts updated.
It seems that face huggers are kept in a sort of incubators on the walls, kind of nod to David's intentions from the end of Alien: Covenant. As long as Alien: Romulus does not feature an Alien queen, I might like it.
The important thing to take away from this is that it is the highest grossing movie in this series, and with the lowest budget of the five! Pretty impressive. You said "It contributed very little to the Worldwide achievement of becoming the highest-grossing Monsterverse film in the world." Well, without that 11 million or so, it doesn't do that. I'd say that's a decent contribution. Perhaps in the overall series of Godzilla films in Japan, it didn't do well, but overall, it pretty much kicked ass.
(Couldn't edit out the last two words)
