It's funny, the paleo community often stereotypes the Jurassic Park/World fandom as being "immature", "mindless", and "cult-like". Yet, the Jurassic fandom has shown more maturity and class in this situation (and in others) than any of these so-called "professionals"...

About your point of GSP not being appealing to kids. Most sources I see its rated R15+ in Japan. So I dont think its trying to appeal to kids.
I'm fine with waiting for Goji if the payoff is right, or not right. Honestly I dont care if there is a fight.
As for the characters, I dont really see your point, they very clearly have different personalities and I have no idea what backstory they would need

YES you never had to have Xenomorphs, you could have had Similar but Different, but then with Prometheus you had the Potential to STEER AWAY from the Xenomorph and LV-223/426.
The Prometheus Plot had Scope... and RS had said he felt the Alien Franchise could/should be where Star Trek and Star Wars are.... NOW i dont think he meant as BIG as those Franchises.
I think he is looking at the World Explorations.. with the Engineers Plot its UNLIKELY all we have is those Engineers on Planet 4 and LV-223 and Humans on Earth!
So YES we could have had MANY WORLDS, and MANY RACES and HOW would they GET ON? etc.
Star Trek is SET in our HUGE GALAXY... and Star Wars is SET in a GALAXY FAR FAR AWAY!
With the Engineers Plot we are NOT just Confined to ONE GALAXY...... so YES you could have Countless Worlds and Races and Conflicts and Horrors.
Exactly with this TOPIC i hope to engage people to show that you CAN have other Worlds with ALIENY THINGS... but you also could have Worlds that have NO Real Aliens, well NOT as FAR as anything related to LV-223/Xenomorphs.
With the Engineers Plot you have Potentially Hundreds or Thousands of Worlds, with Many Races, some more Human than others and maybe NOT all of them are Creations of the Engineers at all.
The Engineers Plot really is UNCAPPED POTENTIAL... thats before we even TRY to think about WHO had Created them!

The Principle Idea would be that the Juggernaught had Docked and Bombarded the Planet and the Docking Ship tried to Release but something cause BOTH of them to Crash.
The Dialog i put would be that AFTER the Juggernaught had Crashed it would Activate a Warning System and Begin to Automatically OPEN the Cryo-Sleep Pods.
So David would RUSH OVER to Prevent Dr Shaw from Leaving (he at this Point would NOT want her to DIE), but he has NOT been Totally Honest with her as we know he DEPLOYED the Pathogen.
Awaking Confused and then Banging her Head would mean she WOULD-NOT be to aware of what was going on and unable to ASK many Questions.
NEXT we would have David keep her in Cryo-sleep for a Few Weeks while the Pathogen takes its Course. He then awakens her AGAIN... she asks what has Happened to the Engineers, he would then say they are ALL GONE.. The Pathogen had Leaked after the Crash and that its NOT SAFE outside.
David would then convince her to STAY on the SHIP in Certain Areas and she would make her self a MAKE-SHIFT sleeping Quarters and she would have some Rations Left (from the Life-Boat) and David is able to Obtain some Water from the Ship.
David would COME and GO to Inspect the Planet and say he is checking for when it can become SAFE. When the Water Supply seems LOW, then David would Discover some more from the CITY and say that the Engineers had some Water Storage that the Pathogen has NOT infected... he would then over Weeks gather Food that he says is PERFECTLY FINE to Eat.
He says the Virus only affects the Meat, and that the OUTSIDE is NOT SAFE yet and Sadly the Engineers are GONE... Then when David is Gone then Dr Shaw discovers some Drawings he has DONE, a Study of Flora but also Fauna and she Questions David... he says he found a LAKE that the Creatures in there are NOT really Infected, she gets Suspicious...
When David goes again, she Explores outside and Discovers the AIR is Breathable but she cant see ANY signs of Life.... she goes back inside and when David arrives he has a FISH he Cooks for her saying its SAFE and she Needs Protien.
She gets Suspicious and Asks David about the Environment is it SAFE and he ensures her its NOT SAFE to go out the Pathogen is still Airborne... she asks HOW it has NOT effected the FISH he got her... David said its from a LAKE that is Past the City and its NOT infected. But its NOT SAFE to leave the Ship yet, when the Pathogen is SAFE he will take her to this Garden where he has got Various Fruit and he will take he to the LAKE.
Then David will leave again and said he would be Long Time, like 8 Hours as he is going to EXPLORE further. She waits a SMALL WHILE... then Follows him, keeping her Distance.... she Discovers that she can see NO SIGN of Life but David must have got the FISH from some place.... she realizes she seems to have NO EFFECTS for being OUTSIDE and so David has NOT been Honest.
She then comes to the CITY sees the Dead Engineers, she HIDES as David is seen Leaving the Cathedral and goes OFF to the West.... She realizes that David has TOLD the TRUTH the Engineers are GONE... but she seems to have NO EFFECTS.... so she goes into the Cathedral.
She is in just as much AWE of the Cathedral as she was with the Statues, but she was Disturbed by the Dead Engineers... even taking Pity as she saw a Few Females before she Entered the Cathedral.
She would make her way to the HALL OF HEADS and she gets Emotional, she sees in the Room before some VATS of Water, which is what David must have been getting, she Questions as to IF all of the Engineers are Gone...
She hears a Noise! She goes to investigate and Discovers Davids Workshop, she is SHOCKED, she then sees Drawings of Engineers, Autopsies etc, then Baby and Infant Skulls and Skeletal Remains... then the Plasticized Engineer.
She realizes that SOME of the Engineers must have Survived, she then Hears the Noise again, and Faint Moaning... she then makes a SHOCKING DISCOVERY!
She comes Across a Chained Up Female Engineer who is Bound and Gagged, Dr Shaw is Saddened, she then notices a Dead Female who has NOT long been Dead and is on a Table with her Womb Removed...
The Female Engineer Moans... and Points... Dr Shaw enters through a Door that the Engineer was pointing towards and sees a Cage with Engineer Infants, all Emaciated. three in Number, and then in the Corner is another Female Engineer who is Chained Up but she is Barely Alive. Dr Shaw goes over to her and Removes her Gag, she looks on to Dr Shaw, as her Hand are Untied (Dr Shaw reluctantly does so) the Engineer Elder Female points to the Infants and Speaks, we know Dr Shaw cant Understand her Words, but she knows what she means.
The Engineer then looks at Dr Shaw and Smiles and Mutters a Final Word before she PASSES AWAY...
Dr Shaw goes to look for a KEY to the Cage, she then goes into the other Room and is about to UNTIE the other Female Engineer.... WHEN!
David turns up "My my aren't you a Nosy Parker"
Dr Shaw goes to Grab a Knife but David is too Quick, he throws Dr Shaw to the FLOOR and then he turns to the Female Engineer and SLITS her Throat... David says "I have no more Need for you my Dear"
He then turns to Dr Shaw and tells her she should NOT have left the Ship and came here, she Demands to know what has he been doing! She asks him WHY has he been Lying!
David Proceeds to tell Dr Shaw that he DID ALL OF THIS for Her, he knows the Engineers would NOT have welcomed Dr Shaw, and they would surely have NOT taken kindly to HIM and so he had WIPED this World Clean for Dr Shaw.
He then tells her some of the Engineers managed to get to this PLACE and SEAL themselves away from the Pathogen, but the Pathogen infected the Food Supply near by and Water Outside within the City Grounds, he said Escaping the Pathogen was the Least of their Worries, and that OUTSIDE the Pathogen had lead to some interesting Results. He points towards some Organisms like the Neomorph.
He goes on to tell her eventually with Lack of Water and Food the Engineers became Weak and RIPE for the pickings and so David made his MOVE.
He said that he had Experimented on the Females to TRY and Find a way so he could HELP with Dr Shaw to allow her to BARE CHILDREN.... he said that they could START a NEW EDEN together.
He then said he could NOT Quite Figure a way for her to Create but he felt that she could be EVOLVED and the Pathogen could then FIX her Reproductive System. He said the Child that you and Holloway had was just the Start, and that he could Perfect it.
He Pointed to some Interesting Results he had with the Engineers. And says the Attempts with them was NOT so Fruitful, he said and WHILE that Dr Shaw could not CREATE, what she had Created with Holloway seems Superior.
Dr Shaw screams at David, she is Angry and said THEY was Supposed to get some Answers, and David said those Answers do-not matter your kind are merely a Off-Shoot of the Engineers a Insuperior Experiment and nothing more, your GODS dont Love you then Abandoned you... but David said he Loves her and would NEVER go and Abandon her.
He asks her to JOIN HIM and together they can Rebuild Paradise...
She Smiles at him and says she can Consider it, he says he will clean the Mess up and will Join her, with that she then HITS David from behind with a Plate as he is Bent Over the Dead Engineer Female, she then makes RUN FOR IT!
She has Rejected David.... and he does-not take KINDLY to Rejection, she can TRY and Escape with the Juggernaught but its GOING NO-WHERE and David will eventually Catch Her!
When he does he will tell her "i knew you would reject me, you have no love for no one but your God, well i have made some success at being a Creator but the Results where NOT as Perfect as i hoped, i have NO NEED for the Engineers now i have you"
"Do Not Fear.... you will be a Good Mother and our Children will be Perfect"
This is the EVENTS for when things TURN BAD between David and Dr Shaw.
Just a random thought: what if the Engineers looked at their civilization as the top of the creation? By doing that they want to spread and not be on just one planet but through-out the galaxy? Could they have conquered other planets (compare it to the Europeans that came to America) and if so what happened to the indigenous life-forms.

By another one? Maybe there is another sort of civilization out there in the franchise and not just the Engineers and humans? Who knows what that would be but it would fit with the war of the worlds thing. I wouldn't mind another civilization being introduced depending on how it's done but I would prefer if they would expand on the Engineers.

Humans have tried to domesticate different animals, like how we got dogs. Maybe humans have tried to domesticate other animals where it didn't succeed so maybe that could have happened to the Engineers also? You could get different kind of monsters in the franchise, monsters that we haven't seen before? The thing is to get the Engineers right and make sense of it while having some mystery and not explain everything.
The black goo is interesting, and I don't count David's babbling about it in that viral clip. If it's not in the movie then it hardly counts so it's good that they didn't have that in AC. Don't explain everything and also don't make it all about David because that's crap.

Yes! Expand the franchise, don't take steps back.
The Fifield Zombie/mutant was lame, probably one of the worst monsters in the franchise. I'm not saying this because it pisses me off, I'm just comparing it to other monsters that we have in the franchise. Zombies should be for zombie-movies, leave them out of the alien-franchise.

I think that the new monsters made by the goo were interesting, the worst was the Zombie-fifield. The Neomorph was kind of close to the Xeno and if the goo brings Xeno-traits then what if it infects another life-form but it gets less Xeno-traits but still is linked? By doing that there is a link but still something new.
Not interested in seeing 500 Xenos again, give me more about the Engineers and have well-written human characters. Leave David and the focus on androids out of it.

I would rather have that than anything about androids. Not to say that you can't have androids in it but they are not what it should be about. People have their ideas what the franchise should be about but I'm not interested in the focus on androids because AC did this and it made me disappointed. They need to bring back the unknown and isolation because at least that's what made it work to me. Bring back well-done characters.

Hopefully not, that could be a way to expand the franchise but then you got to show how they differ from each-other. If you have Engineers on planet A and B then it is likely that there are differences between them, both how they organize society and also how the planets look like.
Even though I don't like the last part, I still hope that there will be a new part.
That picture looks like something out of a Transformers-movie, in other words stupid. Can't they just stop it and realize that Ripley has had her time? Move on with something else instead of throwing Ripley and her cousins and what ever into other things, even having Amanda Ripley in it feels like a parody. As much as I am tired of David and the android-thing Ripley feels more played out. Try again
I have listened to a podcast (AVP-galaxy podcast I think) where they discuss various comments by Scott about the franchise and they seemed to be of the opinion that he changes his mind often. First he is interested in the guy in the chair and then he changes his interest to David, and then he goes back to the Engineers again. It's like he can't make up his mind. One thing that they said is that he has got to play along with the studio so maybe that is a thing also.
Proud of Prometheus? As he should be but according to the documentary of Prometheus he mostly happy about cutting the movie down to two hour (according to the Xenomorphing podcast). Going for a run-time should not be important, if the movie is being reduced in quality because of a director that thinks that he must cut it down to get ticket sales then something is wrong. There are deleted scenes on Youtube that I've watched and they would have improved the movie greatly if they would have been left in. Deleting those scenes makes me wonder if Scott and Fox know what they are doing but now we have the Disney situation which is what it is.
Covenant was a mistake because they didn't learn from the criticism from Prometheus. All they thought people wanted was the Xeno and then everything else would be fine, guess what? It didn't
Three bad things about Covenant:
1. Lame human characters except for Oram and Faris
2. The focus on androids wasn't very good
3. Making the Xeno a result of a mad android was crap although I understand it thematically it sucks story-wise.
Both Scott and Fox are to blame
I would like to see (if they will continue the prequels):
1. Better human characters, this is a must and they should not release another one either as a prequel-movie or an alien-movie before they get this right.
2. Less focus on androids
3. Make it clear that David just made his own version of the monster
4. More about the Engineers (society, culture, religion, science, and so on)
As for the franchise in general I would like to see:
1. New worlds
2. New monsters
3. New Life-forms, engineers and what not
Expand the franchise don't go back to things that we have seen over and over. Like
I've said Star Wars and Star Trek can do this so the alien-verse could do that too. They need good stories and relatable human characters to get it right, the team responsible for it got to understand that, until then we're fucked (to paraphrase Alien 3).
I agree with you Chris on this one. It would be sad if they would erase the Engineers and give us another Xeno-movie. We have had Xenos in the first four and the AVP's and also in Alien Covenant although briefly (due to studio-pressure?). Even though Prometheus is very flawed adding the Engineers was a very good thing since it expanded the franchise. To me they should introduce new worlds, and new civilizations and not just have the Xeno every time because that gets old.
About the Engineers, I pretty much preferred those in Prometheus compared to those in AC. The Prometheus-Engineers looked bigger and more alien. Unfortunately the Engineers in Alien Covenant looked more like people with face-paint. Maybe they looked like that because of the budget so they couldn't make them more interesting and also they were just in the movie briefly. Let's think about it, if you will just have something in a short scene then maybe you won't care that much to make it look good compared to other things that will feature for a longer time in the movie. What BD said about the original Engineers and the steroid-version makes sense but it makes the original ones look lame if we by the originals mean those that we saw briefly in AC. They could have looked more interesting and alien.
Maybe there will be a new movie some day (doubtful at this point) and then I hope that they will be back. Hopefully we will see both the smaller Engineers and the bigger ones. They are just too interesting to throw in the trash-can. Star Trek and Star Wars can have different things so why not the Alien-franchise? Eventually it won't make as much money but you can at least expand it beyond what we had in the first four even though Resurrection is a joke with some good things in it.
The Engineers have potential, you just have to make them interesting and make sense of it.
That's fine, but it's another case of a franchise moving to satisfy an aging demographic of adults who are still tied to their childhood, and abandoning people who are living their childhood RIGHT NOW... as in kids.
Our house has kids of various ages, 2-15, and all of them lost interest in Singular Point within 2 episodes. There's nothing here for them at all. And any Godzilla show that literally has only, maybe, five total minutes of Godzilla spread out over 6 hours is obviously doing something wrong.
Again, there was a way to have accomplished both aims, here. The show could have leaned into the physics stuff while still giving some "red meat" to fans who actually want to see kaiju in a show about kaiju. The only explanation as to Singular Points refusal to do so is either the creator's vanity/arrogance (trying to be the smartest guy in a room filled with otaku, which isn't hard), and/or budget. They simply couldn't afford the CGI monster animation, so packed it with hours and hours of 2d exposition scenes.
But if you're into Nolan, it makes sense. Nolan is another guy who tries to be the smartest guy while doing dumb things like eschewing character development or audible dialog as a means of looking artsy. But even Nolan got it right a few times; Dark Knight satisfied all audiences, both kids and adults alike.
I dunno. If I watch 6 hours of Godzilla, I wanna see Godzilla. Not people talking about Godzilla.
If I were to level one criticism, it’s that David goes on too much about being perfectly safe! Ridley would run a red line through all those repetitions :)
It must have been quite a journey for Dr Shaw to accompany David to the citadel, what with all those dead bodies littering the plaza. Although it would be quite amusing to see David say “Oops.”
Not to mention the bio-hazard of all the recent infection. How would David have guarded against that? Maybe they stuck it out in the juggernaut for a few months.
I like the idea of their futile attempt to suck the oxygen out of the ship.

I vehemently disagree. All of EnJoe's work is high concept on this level and it's refreshing to have such a thing in the Godzilla franchise. This isn't an action series or a character driven series, it's all about the high concept. As such, characters in these stories, or stories like Shin Godzilla, or Gamera 2, don't have to be traditionally developed. In the latter cases, which are procedural based, not unlike Law & Order, the characters are conduits for the story's ideas and concepts. It's the same here. While the characters are not heavy on development, they work because their fascination and enthusiasm for the concept(s) invest us in it as well.
An example I've likened to this is many of Christopher Nolan's films, particularly Tenet from last year (which I loved). The main character has a vague backstory, but his passion and drive are steeped in his dedication to his work and the story's concept. There aren't many personal threads to work with. Likewise, Yun and Mei's passion and drive is to their work - to the mystery - to safeguarding humanity and acting as conduits for the story.
This most certainly drives traditionalist, character writers, and audiences, nuts, but it's also an example of how there are many ways to approach characters and what kind of emphasis is put on them.
If these aren't reasons some people watch Godzilla-related stories, there's certainly plenty of others to pick from instead. Otherwise, I don't think it hurts to create and/or find new reasons to watch Godzilla-related content. This in particular has become the most fascinating and re-watchable since GMK.

It won't completely change anything, the rant is mostly meant to release the bottled up frustrations that I've had for years, however, I'm hoping that by making it public it will help spread awareness to these issues that this community has. I'm hoping that at least a few people will listen and hopefully, by drawing attention to these problems, it helps to resolve these issues so that the community can improve itself for the future, if it doesn't, well at least I tried...

Unfortunately, I think the show is -- ultimately -- the vanity project of a Physics professor. I first thought it was great, and liked the science backbone. The new monster designs are amazing. But I'm now done with Episode 12, and the last two episodes were nearly all physics lessons. In Ep 12 specifically, Godzilla makes no appearance, and Salunga appears in one scene for about 5 seconds. In Ep 11, Godzilla had about 10 seconds of screentime, obscured in red dust.
I get that adding a science backstory is interesting, but people don't generally watch Godzilla shows for 6-hour lessons in speculative physics. Worse, while the characters are likeable, they are wholly undeveloped. We have no backstory for any of them, and they each exist merely to utter the writer's physics technobabble. Each episode is simply exposition.
I think it's a matter of vanity and budget. By not showing the monsters (other than the Anguiras fight, and then the JJ vs. Kumongas fight), the show could rely on the cheaper 2D animation.
Maybe Episode 13 will knock it out of the park, with the last few eps have lowered my expectations for either a meaningful explanation or any actual excitement.
Episode 12 has been my favorite so far.

As a Warning Siren goes off on the Ship, David rushes over towards the Cryo-Stasis Pod that Contains Dr Shaw. The Capsule is starting to open up.
A dazed and confused Dr Shaw lies awake, she is coughing repeatedly, she sits up desperately trying to escape the Cryo-Pod.
DAVID
"Relax Elizabeth, try not to move too much just concentrate on breathing"
DR SHAW
"where am i, whats happened whats that sound"
DAVID
"Its fine just relax no need to panic you are in a state of shock"
DR SHAW
"Whats that sound David, what have you done"

"Its a automated warning we have crashed and the Ships systems have released the Cryo-Sleeps Suspended Animation Systems"
Dr Shaws Face turns to serve Panic now.

"If you allow me to finish, our Ship was in the Process of being docked, i attempted to contact the Engineers and i then detected they attempted to Drain all the Oxygen from the Ship, they attempted to cut the Life Support and so i attempted to to pull the Ship away but it caused us to become released and loose control and we crashed into the Mountains"

"It seems they do not welcome any unwelcome visitors, so i panicked and tried to get us away"

About 45 Minutes has passed by, we see David looking down at Dr Shaw who is now placed on a Medical Bed that was rescued from the Life Boat of the Prometheus.

“Wakey wakey rise and shine”
Dr Shaw awakens she is confused.
DR SHAW
“Where am i? What’s going on!”
DAVID
“Shhhh! Stay calm drink this”
He hands Elizabeth a Glass of Water.
DR SHAW
“I had a strange dream!”
DAVID
“Just relax you have had a long journey”
DR SHAW
“Where are we what has happened?”
DAVID
“I have already told you we have crashed but you are Perfectly Safe”
Dr Shaw realizes she was not dreaming.

“But what about the Engineers you said they tried to harm us!”
DAVID
“Do not worry about them they can no longer be any threat to you”

“What do you mean David? What have you done?”
DAVID
“Nothing Elisabeth the Ship had crashed as i tried to get away, your Gods where attempting to kill us by disabling the Life Support and so i tried to escape but we crashed, and during the crash the Ships Cargo Bay had impacted the Mountain and the Cargo has leaked into the Attomosphere”
DR SHAW
“Where are they? I need to get to my Suit”
DAVID
“You are Quite Safe, i have locked the Doors to the other Areas of the Ship you are Quite Safe in here, unfortunately your Gods will discover what they had in store for your kind”

David walks over to the Control Panel and he hits a button that displays a outside view, and David then Zooms in afar.
We can just make out in the distance a Crashed Engineer Docking Ship
DAVID
“It seems the Pathogen is more effective than you feared, not to worry you was Safe as you were in the Cryo-Pod its perhaps what saved your God on LV-223”
DR SHAW
“How do you know they have all been infected David, how do you know i am safe?”
DAVID
“I cant be 100% sure, i will place you back into Cryo-sleep for a Few Weeks and Monitor the situation, and awaken you when i feel there is No Threat to this Ship, but i can’t say for how long it will take for outside to be safe”
With that Dr Shaw reluctantly agrees to allow David to place her back into Cryo-sleep, and Once again David is alone and Free.

Over the years I've seen a lot of garbage in the paleo community and despite all that I've written so far, I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of the many problems in that community. I'm trying to condense it as much as I can while still going into detail about it.
This is truly a rant 7-8 years in the making.

CHAPTER 14
Zilla Jr. bolted awake. He felt his energy coming back to him but he did not know why. Someone had reversed the polarity of the machinery. He tried to exhale his atomic breath out of his nose and melted some of the muzzle. By every second he grew more and more powerful. He could sense that the same was happening to Godzilla in the next chamber. He shook back and forth and bent some of the restraints. He saw someone in the viewing room being arrested. That must be the person that helped me. He thought. His tail was the first to break free. He knocked back all of the guards in one swoop. He felt the energy become too much for him. He had to expel some of it somehow. His eyes started to glow green as he charged up a desne beam of radiation in his mouth. The muzzle groaned and bent. The force of the beam was forcing his mouth open. He was in an olympia class containment unit, which was underground and huge. His muzzle finally gave away.
The beam shot out of his mouth at lightspeed, boring up through the steel walls and thick rock. Zilla Jr.’s neck brace broke off, allowing him to move his head freely. He tore through the rest of his restraints and stomped on the steel floor. He melted and blasted the table he had been lying on and looked at the humans on the ground and in the viewing area and yelled, “Fuck you!”
He fired his atomic breath and let tons of creatures loose in containment. Emerson activated a device called THRESHER and the whole site started to shake. The THRESHER was a reality bending machine that was about to send Site 13 into another reality. Zilla Jr. broke through the walls and quickly broke Godzila free before burrowing out with him just as the THRESHER whisked it away from this reality.

Another potential Easter egg is in the scene where the group first meet the Skull Islanders. Marlow attempts to calm the Iwi down stating "Everybody keep your wigs on!". In the original 1933 King Kong during the scene where Kong breaks through the wall, the natives panic, one of them attempts to free some chickens from a pen, during which he trips and gets his wig caught on the pen causing it to come off.

Certainly it could have been Interesting to see WHAT it is that David could have DONE had they NOT had to Shoehorn the PLOT to introduce incoming Humans.
With the ONLY DNA of a Human Dr Shaw but with Engineer DNA on a World he has WASHED CLEAN!
But YES i think their Dynamic was Interesting, i am sure that David found it INTERESTING that the Faith of Dr Shaw gave her such a WILL to Carry On!
And also as to HOW would it Effect her Character when she has to FINALLY FACE THE FACT that her GOD does-not Exist and these Engineers are FAR from the Benevolent Gods she had HOPPED.
The Engineers being merely Humanoids who just have the Benefit of being around for MUCH LONGER and thus having more Advanced Tech who NOW deem they can GO and DESTROY their Creations at WILL.
Dr Shaw would LIKELY see these beings as NOT being WORTHY to be the JUDGE, JURY and EXECUTIONER of all they Created.
Imagine the Engineers discover Dr Shaw and David have TURNED UP and then Determine that INDEED their Creations had Advanced so FAR on their OWN to become a Threat and then Dr Shaw discovers that Earth is NOT the Only World were the Engineers have Humans or Humanoids.
The Engineers then Determine that THEY have to GO TO THOSE WORLDS which Include Earth and DESTROY them all!
Would Dr Shaw go and ACCEPT THAT? or would SHE agree with DAVID that the Engineers should be STOPPED!

As far as the OT.. on the Contrary i think that Ridley Scott was PROUD of Prometheus and looking at his Comments after Alien Covenant it seems that he FELT that Prometheus was the RIGHT Direction and ahead of the Curve.
So i think that WHEN he said it was MISTAKE he was refereeing to that Prometheus should have had more a CLUES to LV-426 and should have had a ALIEN MONSTER.
FOX seemed to think that Prometheus had LACKED this and that maybe the Prequels had to CONNECT to the Xenomorph.
In Reality then RIDLEY SCOTT was RIGHT... but i think you had to make some Connection Loosely in a Sequel and so i think Alien Covenant was a MISTAKE
I think HINDSIGHT is Wonderful.... and in Hindsight what they should have done is.
A Sequel that would go to LV-223 and introduce us to another David Model (Fassbender still cast) and this Sequel you make more ALIENY a bit like Alien Engineers where you have Something thats like the Xenomorph and you have more CLUES to HOW the Xenomorph was Created and GOT on the SHIP on LV-426 (but you did-not have to SHOW THIS) having another Ship where its Cargo are Eggs with a Variant of the Xenomorph would have DONE.
You would have had a more Action Alien Monster Fest to please some Fans, with more Clues to LV-426 and you could then have CLOSED THE DOOR to ALIEN but then you would have the Notion that the Black Goo can lead to Horrors like the Xenomorph and that OTHER ENGINEER Ships had Departed from LV-223, and so the Derelict is NOT the ONLY such Ship to have LEFT.
You can then Explore other ALIEN Movies in the Franchise thats NOT just Tied down to LV-426 and the Derelict and the Vanilla Xenomorph.
And THEN..... you could have GONE to where David and Dr Shaw are going and NOT have to be Shackled to ALIEN or those Answers and had FREEDOM to Begin a SPIN-OFF Franchise.

I would say NOT quite it seemed like Spaight had NEVER even watched ALIEN much, as their are Conflicts and Errors. Seemed he was more Familiar with ALIENS.
If you Read his Drafts and take them as GOSPEL in every Detail they dont Conflict ALIENS much, but if you then watch ALIEN then it does-not Connect at all... well its Flawed. But the IDEAS were Good, i think it was TOO ALIENY and Prometheus was TOO LESS say ALIENY.
We NEEDED to have a Balance with Prometheus
The Clues to the Xeno/LV-426 were soooo VAGUE and Ambiguous that MOST would NEVER make any Connection, only the SHIP and Chest Burst Scene at the END would be Familiar.
The Hammerpede and Trilobite you could make some Connection to a Face Hugger, you had the MURAL for a Moment that you could make some Connection with but there was NO Explanation.
I think the Biggest Problem comes from NOT having a Replacement for the Xenomorph. The only DEATHS/KILLS that you could Loosely relate to the Xenomorph was via the Hammerpede (1) and the Deacon Chest Buster (1)
Fifield had KILLED the Majority of the Crew in a SINGLE ATTACK and he had Basically NO Connection to the Xenomorph......... HOWEVER if we had the Fifield from the Spaights Drafts then we would have seen a Connection.
With Alien Engineers we had 3 Different Xenomorph related Monsters who had made a Number of Attacks/Appearances. I think that Prometheus had NEEDED just ONE Monster that we could DRAW a Connection more to the Xenomorph... YES we had the Deacon but this would be like say ALIEN Ended after Kanes Son had RAN off the Table.
With Alien Covenant we had the Neomorph which had more Screen Time and we could make some Connection to the Xenomorph with. I dont think that PROMETHEUS had needed a Xenomorph but it NEEDED something as a Replacement.
