BigGrayGolem,
I don't find specific material being unsatisfying to a particular age group very valid criticism for something unless it is specifically trying to do so. It's like criticizing Italian New Wave for not being in English because some people don't like reading subtitles. It's not for them. The Godzilla series is wide and expansive. If your kids aren't enjoying Singular Point there's plenty of other things to watch in the franchise instead. This particular piece is not for them and there's nothing wrong with that.
Additionally, assuming there's only two reasons Orange and Bones decided to execute the story the way they have comes off as fairly myopic. There can't be other reasons? It seems to match the question in regards to how we watch Godzilla--We have 65 years of monsters slugging each other. God forbid we find new reasons to enjoy and expound upon the franchise, I suppose. If you really want the same old formula, we have stuff like GvK for that.
So Hicks is still injured?
Weapon is cool. I like it. Maybe grown from Juggernaut material ( Black goo ) or an Engineers weapon.
It just looks like ALIENS ? Aliens 1.5
Maybe some exterior shots of where this takes place.....Earth, Mars, LV426, Timbuktu?
I wouldnt say legendary,
Earth is already way stronger even at 150 feet, Earth is basically a god in the anime.
I think Star Wars will win hands down.
Godzilla earth, It already “fought” a cthulu like monster
singular point is like that
I honest to god hope not, even if it makes the movie better. If they bring in some sort of plot armor where she has some kind of genetic modification that triples her lifespan, yeah, it would be kind of dumb, but I would be all for having her outlive other characters or even being the only dinosaur to survive the entire trilogy.
Probably a fusion of a bunch of the Spinosaurids, (Spinosaurus, Baryonyx, Suchimimus, Irritator) with some Ankylosaur DNA to make it look armored and give it a Tail club.
That's a tough one.
If we're talking just in a physical battle, than Cthulu might have a bit of an edge. He's more humanoid, so he could easily outmatch Big G's short arms. They have about the same Intelligence.
If we're talking about any other category, Cthulu wins indefinitely. There's always something new and disgusting that that thing can do that we've never heard of. The fight could only last a few seconds if Cthulu just pulled some dark magic junk and turned Godzilla into a toaster.
You guys seriously went from godzilla to loop Quantum gravity in like 20 minutes
Nice to see you.
I'd love to see it, even if it ends up being as important as the T-Rex in JP3
am I right fellow Jurassic Park Fans
I would ike to see it
The paleo community often gets angry at the smallest details. Here's a quote that I think the paleo community can learn from:
(Paleo Twitter's reaction to seeing the Atrociraptors)

In Regards to the Engineers i know that some had been DISAPPOINTED with what we saw in Alien Covenant. However RS did say that they ARE how he INTENDED them to look.
I think if you look at them, then if they Spent a Extra 45 Min in Make Up each, then you could have given them a Pale Skin that has more Gloss (this could also be Highlighted in CGI) and then they could have had Contact Lenses in and LOOKED a bit more like in Prometheus.
THIS would NOT have Greatly Increased Budget or Production Time and so MAYBE the Aesthetic was NOT due to Budget/Time and INDEED this is just HOW they wanted our Engineers to appear.
Looking at his Comments it seems the Intention could be that the LV-223 Engineers are either
1) Sub-Created Superior Species for a Purpose and so they are Basically like Engineer Replicants and so similar to David.
2) A Group of Engineers who are Genetically Modified/Evolved and then its a Case of was this the Engineer Agenda, or was this a Faction of Engineers who had Genetically Altered themselves?
Ridley Scott had spoken about the Engineers in Alien Covenant, and he had said they are NOT a RACE but they are a Civilization, he had also said prior that just because Humans have different Races then WHY cant the same be said for the Engineers. I also recall he had said those on Planet 4 where the Original Engineers.
I know this may seem a Disappointment as it makes the Space Jockey become something EVEN LESS ALIEN. But the KEY THEME is that ANYONE can become a Creator with the Knowledge and Technology. Lets say that some Scientist managed to Combine the Best Traits of a Human and Ape, just to show THEY COULD! and so we have Created a PLANET OF THE APES Species... the HUBRIS is this Species could OVERTHROW us and so we get to a PLANET OF THE APES.... and the Hubris/Tale would be thats WHAT you GET for Playing GOD.
But such a PLOT does mean the Engineers are NOT as GODLIKE as some would have wanted to see, then its like i Mentioned on another TOPIC.... if you took a Group of Humans from 100 Years Time in a Time-Traveling Vehicle and they went back in Time say 2000-3000 Years ago then THEY would seem somewhat GODLIKE.
I still think it would be a GOOD IDEA to Introduce a Race who came before the Engineers and have them appear more GODLIKE.

However i think HAD we seen RS get to Continue with the Prequels then such a ALPHA Race would actually be Created by David on Origae-6 and maybe become the Space Jockey on LV-426
Actually, to contradict myself, rewatched the ending & the person in a 'kimono' is not in a kimono & it's probably Lucy Palotti wife of cameraman Victor & Audrey's friend, during second half of film. Other two still don't know.
I have no idea how you managed to recognize so many characters from across the whole franchise, I recognized a few, but that's amazing! Also, as to frame 13 with the seemingly mostly Godzilla 1998 cast, having rewatched it recently... Yellow Question mark, in his khaki vest & shorts, with a goatee is almost definitely Dr Mendel Craven & Light Blue Question Mark with glasses, a jacket, red shirt & red hair is likely Dr Elsie Chapman (though it's hard to tell). the other three I do not recognize & do not believe they are from this film. The one in what appears to be a red kimono, certainly not.

Nicolas Cage and this movie poster
While I personally don't want her to die, I have a feeling that she might. Why else would they put that much focus on her origin? I also think it would be an emotional way of ending her legacy and concluding the JW trilogy, with her death signifying the end of an era, and the start of something new.
I love The Land Before Time movies and most of their sequels. But TLBT also had incorporated dinosaur concepts that were for its time accurate compared to its contemporaries something Disney doesn't do because they are still stuck in the past. (Disney's Dinosaur is the only exception)
The Land Before Time gave us:
Dinosaurs living in herds
Most of the time the dinosaurs have their tails off the ground.
Little Foot's mother and grandparents resembles at the time a paleontologically correct Apatosaurus. Unlike Arlo from a Good Dinosaur that looks like a lizard horse.
Tyrannosauruses were capable parents as seen as Pappa and Momma Sharptooth in the sequel.
They eventually added in feather dinosaurs in the later sequels.
I don't mind inaccuracies as long as they make it a worth while watch, I would watch any The Land Before Time movies over the Good Dinosaur
I think the human clone was done okay, I mean she is a realistic clone. Considering in fiction where somehow Clones inherit the memories of their "parent" which thankfully Maise didn't do. A Clone would be more like an identical child that looks just like you instead of a mere copy of you complete with memories. So Maise was all they could do for a realistic human clone character and it gave her a symbolical connection with the dinosaurs.
With that a side, I believe the next Jurassic Park/World movie is going to be heavily focused on the dinosaurs
Rexy dying in this film? I Hope not.
As for Rexy's age, that is for Rex's in the wild, who know perhaps a Rexy could live double her natural lifespan if given proper care
True,
I think the real issue of that reveal wasn't the fact that she was a clone, it was the fact that they didn't do much with that idea so it ended up feeling like a cheap twist (hopefully Dominion will expand on this idea).
Therizinosaurus is rumored, but not confirmed (yet). I mainly wanted to point out how its appearance might have accidently been revealed in one of the early production photos.
One of the first introductions to dinosaurs that I had as a kid were the Land Before Time movies. Needless to say, there are a lot of inaccuracies in that series, dinosaurs from the Cretaceous and Jurassic coexisting, herbivorous toothed Pteranodons, heck the first movie had a Dimetrodon (a very lizard-like one) in it and those guys were extinct long before the dinosaurs showed up. Not once did these inaccuracies "harm" my perception or knowledge of prehistoric life, nor did my future knowledge of dinosaurs harm my view of the series (the first Land Before Time is still one of my favorite animated movies, despite me being in my mid 20s).
I think the paleo community needs to realize that inaccuracies in dinosaur films are kind of inevitable and that we shouldn't be so enraged over every tiny detail, we should instead enjoy things for the way they are. Life's too short to be constantly mad over fictional depictions of long dead animals (ones that we've technically never seen).
Whats wrong with human cloning? I mean InGen already cloned the dinosaurs, which is an epic if not god-tier feat in itself. Cloning a human would be child's play
My favorite is actually The Lost World. I loved the T.rex city destruction scene.
It's Jurassic Park that encouraged me to become a palæontology enthusiast.
I'm pretty sure Therizinosaurus will appear in the film. There are multiple sources saying so.
"The film makers arent the ones destroying the views of dinosaurs in the public its the community."
I agree, 100%
It's their crappy attitude towards everyone that's harming the way people view prehistory, people don't want to learn about dinosaurs if they are constantly being insulted and harassed by a bunch of jerks who think they know everything. Hell, I've been obsessed with dinosaurs for as long as I can remember and grew up wanting to be a paleontologist. However, after seeing the way people in the community act, it makes me want nothing to do with them, so I can only imagine what it would be like for newcomers.
As far as Ice Age goes, It's cool if you don't like it. I personally enjoy the first 3 movies, mainly because I grew up with them (the series went completely downhill after the 4th movie though). The reason I brought it up was to point out the double standard of the paleo community. There are a lot of scientific inaccuracies in that series (some that are technically worse than anything in the Jurassic series), however, rarely does the paleo community complain about it, but the second Jurassic World does anything, they absolutely loose their minds.
I know my point isnt completely valid, but its not imposssible we find a t rex and giga together at the same time.
Also I hate Ice Age. Just a random side note
Cult Like? well I guess real maturity shows through its practice. Not declaring your maturity because you think you know more about a certain subject than others.
The film makers arent the ones destroying the views of dinosaurs in the public its the community. Who in the right ind would want to learn about dinosaurs when the community for them is shouting death threats at a film maker because a T. Rex and Giga fight in a probably very cool scene
"And a counterargument could be made. theres no evidence against Giga and T rex living in the same place."
I would slightly disagree with that, I think there's enough evidence to show that T .rex and Gigas didn't live together (in location and time), but I do understand what you're saying.
Personally, I find it weird that it's always the Jurassic series getting crap for its inaccuracies, yet not a lot of people complain about inaccuracies in other prehistoric franchises. I've rarely seen people complaining about the accuracy of The Land Before Time, Ice Age, The Flintstones, Primal or any other piece of media featuring prehistoric animals. I get that the Jurassic series is more "mainstream" and has a larger influence on the public, but it seems pretty hypocritical to target one specific piece of media, while giving others a pass.
