"I think the people over at warner bros. and legendary are just doing a sequel for the cash."
The code has been cracked.
No one tell Hollywood.
Yay! Thanks for mentioning this and the RPG in general. I know I've been on about it a bit, but I'm obviously enthusiastic. I like the job the RPG has done of bringing together the best and most interesting concepts of the movies, games, novels, and comics in the Alien/s universe, and it gives me hope that the future of all of those things will be better as well.
I am currently reading/ studying the Heart of Darkness scenario. Pre-ordering it allows you to get an early version in PDF format before the retail version is out. Its a really crazy and complex story and introduces some very wild new stuff. I actually don't have a group to play with, so I usually do solo runs of these cinematics with dice and a notebook. Its obviously not as much fun as playing with a group would be, but I still get to see the system at work and participate in the kind mental playground aspect of the game.
One thing I enjoy, too, about the RPG is the way that it kind of throws a new light on the movies when you rewatch them. Someone the other day (forgive me, I don't recall who) mentioned this with regards to Prometheus. Suddenly, there are names and an (almost) internal logic to the events of the film and the engineer ruins that the movie did not really make clear. This is obviously a retroactive effect, but, in my opinion, it makes the story more interesting to watch.
I know I don't post much here, and I know that I sometimes am over enthusiastic when I do, but I enjoy reading everyone's opinions on the movies and such, and, as an Alien nerd, heart and soul, I like that there is an interested and equally enthusiastic community of fellow Alien nerds here. I think it will be interesting to see where the new novels, movie, and tv show take things, and I sincerely hope that the RPG really is a foreshadowing of things to come.
Betting that Kong: Hollow Earth is going to film there, and if not it's going to be a solo Godzilla movie most likely. I wouldn't be surprised if this was actually the TV show that's coming to Apple TV Plus...
...........I have no comment.
But why? I thought godzilla and kong were on good terms by the end of gvk, with godzilla ruling the land and kong ruling the hollow earth, so why would they fight again?
If this news is true, I think the people over at warner bros. and legendary are just doing a sequel for the cash.
Technically, nothing is confirmed until studio issued press releases go out, but this is seems pretty iron clad unless someone screwed up tremendously.
I'm sure Legendary/WB will announce something pretty soon. They're really playing with their Pacific Rim Uprising announcement window here.
Indeed it likely is a Kong-focused sequel as we expected following the release of GvK, but the source for this report seems to be confident in their wording calling it a Godzilla vs. Kong sequel:

Dunno how else to take "confirmed" while still remaining skeptical. Either way it's exciting news!
Doesn't really specify what it is exactly though and other sources have done better to note that.
A better way to word this would've been, "another movie in the Monsterverse," not a confirmation of another Godzilla movie. Or Kong movie for that matter. Though the latter seems more likely.
I kind of figured that Godzilla would be in future MonsterVerse movies. I doubt Legendary would've renegotiate their contract with Toho to continue using Godzilla in the MonsterVerse, only to use him in one show. So it makes sense that they would use him in future movies.
Welp, Goji may be in future movies then
Anguirus the species is there as they showed a clearly identifiable skeleton outside Big Gs temple in KOTM. to be honest i kinda want to see All the Toho monsters make appearances even if there just cameos "living" ones not skeletons or cave paintings. as for abilities Anguirus could be giving a pulse of some sort not emp like muto but i dunno maybe a nerfed "nuclear pulse" like what Gojiras had in some of his Toho movies
warbat.
why? because......................

oh right!
big snek go flappy flaps
.......no.
MOST THRILLING COMMENT OF THE CENTURYYYYY!!!!!!!!
¨What if godzilla and gamera were xenomorphs?¨
What if I cared!

awesome, now I can merge my godzilla fanfiction with my alien one
This is slightly unrelated but can i introduce anyone to the world of thai horror movies.
These are better than most fan art ive seen
xenozilla is awesome looking
Chestburster Godzilla.

Why? well I'll tell you: Godzilla: Because he is like the first monster to be the king of the monsters, Monster 0: because Hes like second best Kaiju, Destroyah: He fought Burning Godzilla and has cool powers and!... Yea that's all.
XenoGamera looks OP...XenoGodzilla isn't that impressive.
I had no problem with Cad Bane's look in the Book of Boba Fett. I knew the characters from Clone wars and Rebels will look different in live action, they're from stylized animated shows. With the Grand Inquisitor however, my gripe is that he kinda looks cheap when compared to his species Pau'ans, that we've seen before in Revenge of the Sith. A lot of people have pointed that out.

But we shall see how he plays out when the show starts.
Also, Here are a couple of others.
Godzilla's back and tail beams (Shin Godzilla)

La Carcagne's antimatter shield (The Giant Claw)

And Reptilicus' "Acidic Goo Of Doom!" (Reptilicus)

(Technically not that weird, but the way it's presented makes it weird)
Megalon could work because his original origin story was that he was worshiped as a god by an ancient underground civilization. The MonsterVerse already introduced the Hollow Earth and the idea that ancient civilizations worshiped the titans as gods, so I feel like Megalon could fit right in.
He didnt just do godzilla, just a talented actor and great man in general.
この度は誠にご愁傷様でした。心よりお悔やみ申し上げます。
I wish his famil the best
Andrew Gaska remains the Alien canon expert. He is currently the consultant used for the books and games as well. Its not just the RPG canon. And its just my opinion, of course, but I would hardly call it "fluff," especially as Disney is looking to consolidate the lore going forward.
I think the stuff in the colonial marines operations manual is all we have so far, although there is a new ship in the Heart of Darkness expansion. Its a plasma trawler, though, so its not a navy vessel. There is one UPP ship in the new scenario as well, but we don't get an image of it, just the specs. Glad to see someone is investigating the RPG. Its just packed full of cool lore, ships, and equipment. I am loving it : )
The ALIEN RPG seems to churn out creatures that are based off of unused concepts
This reminds me to work on my AVPU comic
I haven't read any of them, but if you want to see into the loor than you should probably read them. I hear they're good.
Mine is between Rodan and Anguirus. Both of their roars are amazing, and they both seem underrated. They might not be the strongest, but they don't give up. They are great allies, and formidable foes.
That's horrible. He truly was a legend.
Absolutely a monumental loss to the world. Takarada was the face of the franchise. His joy for the series, its fans and his co-filmmakers will be forever missed.
I hate this so much--For his family, his fans and the franchise, which will never shine quite as bright without his enthusiasm.
We have sadly lost another legend...
Rest In Peace Akira Takarada, Thank You for contributing so much to this beloved franchise.
Also I never realized how much raccoons and house cats have in common
