Disney has already ruined the Alien franchise with this train-wreck of a show. Please no season 2.

This was the most underwhelming finale in history. The series should be called Peter Pan or something, the Alien is literally a pet here. And only present so the series could be called Alien. Give him a leash already. And thanks for nothing with Ocellus, such potential there, and then - nothing.
Well...I was anticipating that particular host choice lol
Just finished the season finale... and I have to say, overall, I am disappointed.
The writing throughout this series is just bad. I'm all for supporting new projects and I'm thrilled Disney even greenlit an Alien series but come on... this show is not very good.
Things I didn't like:
First of all, way to convenient that Wendy can just magically control every aspect of the facility. And if she can control all the synths why did she spend any time fighting Atom when she could just "use the force" and pause him instantly. It's an inconsistent plot device that only conveniently used to explain away lazy storytelling.
There's absolutely no reason for the lights to have started flickering. No self destruction warning, no fuses blew... its an iconic element to the aesthetics of Alien movies but for the sake of making sense... it should've made sense.
The "Stay Frosty" line made me cringe so hard. It actually beat Andy's "Stay away from her you bitch" line from Romulus. So misplaced, so corny.
The Xenomorph looks like trash and should never be shown in daylight. And I loathe the fact it's basically Wendy's erand boy.
I was really anticipating more from this season finale but it ended on such a low note for me.
Things I liked:
The Plumbicare is badass and I loved seeing it finally in action.
T Ocellus survived, he was the real star of the show.
It's over. Lol.
Any gripes people had about Prometheus or Covenant pale in comparison to the flaws this show present. I really don't wish to be negative, but I'm just being realistic. Just cause an Alien series exists doesn't mean we have to fangirl and praise it for existing.
They were so preoccupied with wondering if they could, they never thought to consider if they should.
That's my opinion anyway, if you guys enjoyed it I'm glad. I just have way higher standards for this franchise. I'm disappointed, they could have done so much more with it.
Morrow says on communicator "target one failed, going to target 2 . Who is target 2?I am assuming slightly is target 1.
Wasn't Target 1 Arthur, or at least the little Xeno?
Looks delicious and if I drink this it will transform me into Godzilla and I will shoot atomic death beam
Interesting Godzilla alternative fan redesign by this Chinese artist on Artstation:
I agree though if i have to guess Kavalier is going to have the Ocellus take over Dame Silvia, maybe Curly, Kirsh or even Morrow. Morrow has a swollen eye in the teaser for the finale. Sadly I think the sheep will be abandoned

Keep on prouducing the series it’s good content and it’s better than any show on any streaming platform
Thanks! I'll give this a listen with my coffee tmr morning ☕
Nice catch! I totally forgot about sheep in VW's A3 and it's definitely not a coincidence imo as they could've chosen any other animal to become and remain infected in Alien Earth. There's a clear emphasis on the sheep creature in the series. That's what I believe anyway.
Interesting found. And the sheep is really the MVP in this Season 1. It's calm and collected as opposed to the Xeno. I hope Ocellus stays in the sheep body. They are inseparable.
Here's a rundown of the wooden planet from AVPGalaxy. I first laid eyes upon this thing on Alien 3's special features. There's a segment dedicated to the wooden planet where Ward breaks down the plot of his unproduced script and shares some artwork. I initially thought that the sheep xenomorph was going to be his beast lol. Thankfully it wasn't.
Fascinating! I was actually unaware of this trivia. I wonder if he was inspired by that as well, though we haven't heard him mention that yet. Great topic!
Morrow says on communicator "target one failed, going to target 2 . Who is target 2?I am assuming slightly is target 1.
I assumed Target 1 meant Arthur and Target 2 was the Chestburster inside him, but I could be wrong.
Not sure the demo is a pet. I am thinking more another sibling or ally.

The xenomorph stands like a human being. It's not scary like the ones in the movies. Hope Hawley gets rid of wendy/marcy and the lost boys.

They've gone the Jurassic World route. What used to be terrifying monsters are now "our friends", and have been turned into lapdogs.

It seems I am the only one who wants to see all the movies and the TV show tied together. Would like to see a movie where Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection are dreams and Ripley reappears with Newt and Hicks. Their ages could be explained by them crashing on a planet for the years it took to for them to get to their current ages. It's just ridiculous that kids can control and kill the xenomorph but marines could not. Hoping if there is a season 2 that the lost boys, especially Wendy/Marcy will be eaten by the fly. She was an evil kid before they transformed her.
I have to wonder if Wendy can really tame or train a xeno. We've always thought of the xeno as a killing machine, but maybe there is more to it than that. The xeno has a huge head and maybe a brain of human or greater size. Maybe the xeno is smart enough to make a "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" type analysis. Wendy pointed out that the xeno does not see her as food as it does with humans so perhaps it sees her as something of an equal. But maybe the xeno is playing her the way Morrow played Slightly into thinking its her friend. The killing of the soldiers would not be inconsistent with the way we've seen xenos act before so many be it's just pretending to be following orders.

Episode 7 was the worst. Can't stand Wendy/Marcy and the lost boys and hope the fly gets them all. Hoping season 2 (If they have one.) will only consist of the monsters and the boy genius. Marines can't kill or communicate with the xenomorph but that stupid girl can! She always was evil it's showing and the rest of them are playing follow the leader.
I couldn't possibly have said it better Chris. It's like if we watch Jason Voorhees go to therapy sessions and suddenly feel bad about what he's done and decides (and is allowed despite what he's done and is widely KNOWN as) to work as a preschool teacher.
Ripley 8 (who knew xenomorphs better than anyone probably being a xeno hybrid) said it best herself:
"Roll over, play dead, heel? You can't teach it tricks" and
"It's a queen, she'll breed, you'll die"

I don't think scorpion is favored per se, as Sub Zero/ Bi Han/ Noob Saibot is also a huge fan favorite as well. In the trailer, Noob releases a Shadow Clone that got sliced by Scorpion. Noob can release multiple shadow clones- it's one of his many abilities. WB already released a still from the film showing Noob side stepping and singlehandedly grabbing Scorpion's spear and poised for retaliation. Bi Han wants revenge now and he's even more powerful than he already was as Sub Zero. Scorpion will not have Cole to assist him this time. I believe Noob will shine some this time- it's important to note/ remember that Joe Taslim has already signed on for more films beyond MK2.
I always said my line in the sand was pet Xenomorphs... lol I cringed so hard when they "trained" Raptors in the first Jurassic World. You can't humanize a monster designed to instill fear. There is absolutely no need for it and the execution... I dunno about you but my impression of the Xenomorph is completely different watching it act on Wendy's behalf. It's not scary, it's the same feeling I'd get watching a dog. The Alien once was a symbol of the perfect killing machine, unclouded by morality. Now... it's been reduced to a errand boy for a child robot.
And i hoe Wendy will give her pet a name. :p
This episode is crazy with the pet alien lol. I am not sure if it is too far out but its well executed and fun to watch. Our living earth is somewhat a mess so it could be good we have a new pet.
Awesome news to hear and I can’t wait for more news and updates on Godzilla minus one part 2
Yeah, I think the main gripe is the thickness of the Xenomorph overall. Not to body shame Aliens but their eerie aesthetics are in part the reason they look so creepy and imposing. It would be like if they cast a bodybuilder as Slenderman... it just wouldn't have the same effect.
The head and the neck are too big, clearly a guy in a suit.
Reminds me of
I also like the second Xenomorph a bit better than the first one; it's more yellowish. What I dislike is the neck.
One of the goats 🔥 Love Carlos Huante's work!
Beautiful fan art poster depicting Vincent Ward's Alien 3 by artist diamonddead. Without undermining Alien 3 as it is (assembly cut is a good film by all means) I hope Ward's bold vision will come to life on the screen in a future film or mini series 🤞Agreed. I've been wanting at least a book or comic adaptation so long as it fairs better than the William Gibson adaptation. The comic was pretty underwhelming in my opinion. While we're on Alien 3 here's one from Barry Ballaran
Oh for sure I'm down with a comic book that captures those huge and beautiful interiors on the wooden planet.

I thought the same and this one looks better . I got the impression that the xeno in episode 5 also looked a little different than the roidmorph.
Also, interestingly enough the cgi xenos' body frame look noticably different than the practical versions (i.e way lankier) imo which is a bit of a blunder.
Why was that black goo coming out of his head?
